Not Safe! Beware!

Had to book this hotel for three nights at the last minute and NOT satisfied. I booked a non-smoking room but somehow ended up in a smoking room. Front desk said they didn't have any non-smoking at the price I paid, so they sent someone over to 'deodorize' it. When the carpets were installed in this room, it was done very poorly-there were frayed edges everywhere.
But, the kicker is what happened the morning after our first night. We left the room at 9:30 am, and I shut the door and my friend double-checked that it was locked. We came back to the room at 2 pm and our door was ajar. The cleaning staff in the room next door said they hadn't opened our door yet.
I spoke with the manager on duty and decided it was best for us to check out of the hotel since we did not feel safe. The manager didn't even bother asking whether anything was missing. They refused to give me a refund for the next night since it was past the 11 am check out time. Well, had I realized this would happen, I would have checked out before 11! I did manage to convince them to give me a refund for the third night, but that was only after about 10 minutes of dialogue.

The hallways are dirty, dingy and smelly. The elevators are old and dirty. The room was tiny, but no walking space. You have to stand in the corner to close the bathroom door. I asked for ocean view, I was as close to the street as you can get. The only way I could see the ocean was to lean way over the railing and crane my neck for a tiny view between buildings. There is NO customer service here. The clerk at the counter was rude and basically told me I was stupid. The low rates are not worth the hassle of staying here. We left and went somewhere else. Still fighting over a refund. The staff also could not tell me when the GM would return from his own vacation. Basically got the run around on everythiing.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! When we got there, there was hair all over the bathroom floor! Later that night we called to find out if there was wireless net connections they sd there was a starbucks down the street or go to walmart to buy a cable! so while looking for the wired source before we bought the wire we found a used towel inbetween the headboard and matress! GROSS!!!!! This hotel is obviously not about good hygene. And when we went to tell the manager about it....all we got told was that a maid would be right up(which by the way was almost 6 hours later!!!!) and asked if we wanted an extra razor? My room is dirty and not up to standards and a new razor will make it better?!? I will never be staying at the boardwalk ever again!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the main tower for 4 days . Everything was fine with only one problem. The cleaning crews were always friendly and spoke a hello or good morning. We had a light bulb out when we first arrived and the maintenance man was there in about 10 minutes to replace it after we notified the hotel of the problem. Plenty of parking spaces were available. The only problem we had was there was a coffee pot provided in the room with no coffee. We were told the closest coffee was 8 blocks away that we could purchase to use in the coffee pot that was provided. Thought that was a little strange. I do not normally travel with coffee. Other than that, everything went well.
