HORRIBLE

The hallways are dirty, dingy and smelly. The elevators are old and dirty. The room was tiny, but no walking space. You have to stand in the corner to close the bathroom door. I asked for ocean view, I was as close to the street as you can get. The only way I could see the ocean was to lean way over the railing and crane my neck for a tiny view between buildings. There is NO customer service here. The clerk at the counter was rude and basically told me I was stupid. The low rates are not worth the hassle of staying here. We left and went somewhere else. Still fighting over a refund. The staff also could not tell me when the GM would return from his own vacation. Basically got the run around on everythiing.

Stayed at the Boardwalk Beach Resort for a long weekend. Found rooms to be clean and had no problems. The staff was friendly as well.

Good Value, Good Location

My wife and I stayed for a 1-night getaway and shopping the next day. Boardwalk Resort has 4 separate towers, all ocean side, all w/ at least some ocean view. The property was clean, neat and orderly. Plenty of parking. Checkin at the main office, across the street (plenty of parking there too, unlike some ocean front resorts). Staff was courteous, well groomed and well-informed. What you need to know: The property still used the "old fashioned" metal hotel room key. They haven't upgraded to the credit card key system----thought everybody had by now. That worked just fine, too. The 1 bdrm efficiency w/ ocean view that we got was clean. Especially the bathroom. Nice tile floors. Large, deep tub. Plenty of towels, wash cloths and soaps. Take your hair dryer. None included in the room. The furniture looked like it had seen better days. While nothing was broken, there was considerable wear on the tables, nightstand and dressers. Just time for some updating. But all in all, I was pleased. Excellent place to lay your head after a hard day shopping, golfing, beaching. Beds were pretty comfortable. Sheets clean. Carpet clean. A/c worked well. TV and remote worked w/o incident. We paid $70 for this room with only 1 night required booking. That's uncommon for this area. Most want 2-3 nights minimum. I would stay again. Good location--not too close to the Paviion, so it's relatively quiet after 11pm. Only a mile or so from Broadway, and of course, right on the Strand. Sorry, didn't try the pools, but they appeared clean and saw many people enjoying them. I'll go back.

Never again

As soon as we arrived there was sand on the hotel room floor and hair in the bathtub. I thought these places were suppose to be cleaned before new guest arrived. Once housekeeping came to clean the room I felt a little better. I was beyond disgusted. The overall hotel just wasnt as nice as it looked on the internet. I told them about all the problems I had and told them I would never stay there again....they sent me a 10% discount off my next stay.
