Just like a city park bench, but costs more

I'm writing this at 2 AM because there's no way I'm going to be able to sleep on this butcher block of a bed. Easily the most uncomfortable night's stay I've had in any hotel anywhere. I can't wait to "wake up" in six hours so that I can get some real sleep on the flight home. Oh, and BOLT THE TOILET TO THE FLOOR, ALREADY. That's just pathetic.

Rude at Check-in. Otherwise, OK

Aside from difficulty at check-in, this hotel was adequate, even a good value, for the price. We were attending an event at the Seattle Convention Center, and walked about 8-10 blocks to check-in. Upon arrival at 1:10pm, we were informed by one of the staff at the counter that there were no rooms clean yet. He said it would be 45 minutes - tops. No problem there, since we were fairly early. We went to have lunch (nothing very close by on foot) and returned in about 90 minutes. A different guy (name withheld) at the counter said they had no clean rooms, and that they don't guarantee anything until 4pm (another 70 minutes). Since they previously quoted 45 minutes, we explained that we had walked (my wife with a cane), and would be back at 4pm and that if they did not have a room, we expected a refund. The employee said, "I don't take orders from you". We explained that we were not giving him an order and that his co-worker had said they would have a room a while ago. He said, "You ARE ordering me, and I don't take orders from you". After stopping by the restroom, he informed us he now had rooms. We appologized if we had seemed demanding, but he never appologized for his rudeness. The hotel itself seemed fairly clean, the carpet seemed fine (despite an earlier review), and other than fairly unfomfortable beds, it was ok for the money. I hesitate to return, however, to any business that doesn't treat their customers well.

Great Value

Not sure about the 'needs updating' and other feedback. My stay was pleasant, with no complaints. That staff was helpful, parking convenient. I would stay here again. "Bang for the buck" unmatched in this part of town.

bad beds, not very clean overall

The room was priced right, but the beds are terrible, as well as the linens themselves. A very nice hot tub area, but the chlorine was EXTREME, and the adjoining fittness area was very very dirty, very obvious the floor hadn't been cleaned in days. Carpets throughout the place are in very poor shape. The staff was friendly and helpfull. The breakfast area was nice and roomy. Some reviews claim the breakfast is "great". The breakfast is your standard contenential, very basic, but it was ok. For the price, if is ok, especially if you aren't in your room that much. I would stay here again soley on the price. Oh, and they charge for parking, which is a total rip off.

I picked this hotel because of the location and the pictures on the web made it look ok. Unfortunately, the rooms were terrible: uncomfortable beds, outdated decor, smelly, broken AC, old carpet. I was very disappointed. For the downtown price it was far from worth it.
