Great Value Great Room

I found this hotel to be a great value for the money, given the area and the ritzy alternatives in the Newport Beach. I had to stay at this hotel because my company would not pay for me to stay at the hotel where my conference was because of the cost, so I found this little gem on online travel website.
The Good: Exterior well maintained, ample parking, friendly and accommodating staff. Interior was well maintained and clean. Bathroom was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and various soaps, plenty of clean towels. The bed had a good firm mattress and the sheets were clean (no yucky comforter). Room had an LCD TV and limited cable. There was a minifridge and coffee maker too, though I didn't need to use them. Other amenities: hairdryer, iron/ironing board, laundry service, desk w/chair, ample lighting. A/C worked marvelously. Complementary chocolate chip cookies on arrival.
The Bad: No "real" opaque curtain. Even though I was on the second floor, the room only had that sheer white covering that covered the entire window. Had I wanted to sleep-in or for other privacy issues, there was no full privacy curtain. The room doors are not fully sealed, so you get alot of excess noise from noisy guests walking down the hall (usually little kids).
Overall: I thought this hotel was a great value. It lacks the ambiance of a more expensive hotel, but when all you want is a clean place to relax and sleep before you start your next business day, this place is terrific! I would recommend it and stay at it again.

We stayed here for our daughter's wedding in Laguna Beach...Location was ideal, walking distance to Starbucks if you enjoy good coffee. Restaurants within walking distance near the bay. Room average, mattresses not the best. Probably would look for another hotel for price we paid next time, but it served its purpose
