You will not get what they advertise!!!

I searched to find the perfect affordable hotel to pamper myself over the holidays. I chose Hawthorn hotel because it was advertised as a Presidential Suite with fireplace, free internet, microwave, refrigerator, jacuzi, two tv's, etc. What I got was not what was advertised. The room had no fireplace, was given to me dirty, trash in the trash cans, bathroom had urine stains on the seat. The tv in the bedroom had no remote and thus could not be used. I shared this information and was told it would be handled when the manager was made aware of it. The next day I returned to the hotel but the manager was not available and did not get back to me. I talked to the manager that Thursday and she said she would get back to me the next day. Meanwhile the microwave did not work and had to be replaced. The internet kept going out forcing you to sign on every 15 minutes then it would stay on for a hour or so and repeat the action of going out. The room was not cleaned just the bed was made up, until a complaint was lodged. I finally talked to the manager the day before I was to leave only to find out that the owner way of making up for the long wait to handle the problems, the dirty room, the broken equipment is not even worth mentioning. The mother company refused to do anything thus supporting the false advertisement and poor service. If you are looking to get what you pay for or to get what is advertised, I would not recommend Hawthorne Hotel in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The hotel was very convenient and the people were nice. You need to know they do not have an elevator if you stay on the second floor. The rooms were very roomy and nice. But the personnel were not experienced enough to know that they were not supposed to charge my credit card because I prepaid. So now I am still working on fixing the mistake.

Great Little Hotel

I very much enjoyed my stay. I usually try to choose all suite locations, but this little jewel is nestled away. Although it is right off the interestate and easy to get to. The employees make you feel right at home and the rooms are spacious and great for families.
