Celebrating my 30th @ Hard Rock

Hard Rock was a pit stop along the path of my 30th bday bash. My sister and I crashed @ Hard Rock overnight after an evening of birthday celebrations. The rooms were impressive w/ the choice of modern finishes (rich leather and sleek chrome embellishments throughout the room). However, due to the modern edge of the decorations, come night-time, the room came off overwhelmingly like a cave. Even w/ all the lights on in the room, it felt dark and dismal in the room. If you're looking for ambiance, this is the hotel for you. The staff @ Hard Rock was impressive from the minute we entered the confines of the hotel. From the front desk receptionist who checked me in to the house keeping staff.
I felt the room was a little overpriced. I understand that the hotel is nestled in a superb location while offering a great sized room, although cave-like, I still felt the price for what you r/c'd was out of proportion.

From the plush pillows, robes and pillow top beds to the aveda products in the bathroom, the room had the perfect modern ambiance featuring both comfort and utility. We were impressed with the grandiose nature of the lobby and enjoyed browsing the rock and roll artifacts. We found ourselves back at the hotel on saturday night enjoying drinks at the hotel's lounge area. We had a great experience and will be sure to visit the Hard Rock again sometime soon.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. The facilities were clean and elegant and the view of Michigan Avenue from our room added to the ambiance. The trendy lobby bar was a good place to relax, and the service at the desk was polite and timely.
The highlight of the stay for me was the room. It was a spacious room with modern decor. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I truly melted when I laid down. The small touches added a lot - the guitar embroidered on the pillow cases, the CD player, the coffee machine, the bath robe, the huge shower... We joked that we had the David Bowie suite, as there were several pictures of him in the room, along with the Beatles and another artist we didn't recognized.
The only thing I can complain about is that the blow drier in the room didn't work.
I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was in a great location near everything. The room was small but clean. The rate was good. Overall it's not a bad hotel.

We stayed here for a business trip/part personal, and found it to be very nice. I have read some other reviews about the rooms being dark, but I did not find this to be true. The rooms are painted grey so that may seem room darkening, but the lights were ample. Our room had a nice view up Michigan Ave., and the bed was comfortable. I wouldn't say a family of four would find this room appealing as the king room does not have ample seating for more than two people. The location is great, and within walking distance of everything. We did not eat at the onsite restaurant China Grill, as it was very pricey. I thought it was a bit odd that a Hard Rock eatery was not in the hotel. That is the only drawback that I have about this hotel, above this I find that our stay was great, and the hotel met our expectations. We will definately choose Hard Rock Chicago again.
