Horrible Hotel, rooms are old and outdated, furniture is beat up, beds are uncomfortable, A/C does not work properly, Elevators take forever, bathtub is designed for midgets. This property is being advertised as a hotel, it is NOT. It's a condotel.
The only good thing this property has it's Location.
Will never stay there again.

We came to Hawaii to get married. We found this condo hotel a wonderful place to stay.
With a nice sized living room, full kitchen and seperate bedroom, we were able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The bathroom is nice sized and has plenty of hang up space for clothes. The closets in the bedrooms are big too. It is much roomier than most hotel rooms I have stayed at in this area. Most are very small and cramped. The Sunset may not be the fanciest place but if you are looking to an alternative to a small closet type hotel room, this is the place. We had a beautiful view of the city and the mountains. Absolutely beautiful at night. It is a non-smoking facility but if you are a smoker, there is a designated area on the pool deck and out front. We met a bunch of wonderful people in the smokers areas and had a kind of community sharing our days adventures with each other. There is a convience store in the hotel for snacks and soda and other items. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, silverware, etc. There is a coin laundry on every floor which worked well for us.
Good Value!!!

I think this hotel is best for families. We stayed in an ocean view and it was on the 35th floor so we could see almost the whole island from our window. At night when the city lights up the view is awesome i wanted to fall asleep at the balcony. Theres a really convientent grocery store type thing on the first floor and the guy who works there is really nice! the whole staff there was really friendly. They have a tour advisor by check in and she is patient and will plan out ur whole trip if u want her too. There are BBQ grills and food vendor on the pool floor which is coool. The only thing i didn't really like about the hotel is the furniture...its outdated and old but its not distgusting or anything. Great place for the price. Good for family but i don't recomend for couples.

This hotel is in a great location. Parking is extra. The hotel is an older highrise condo. We stayed in a 1 bdrm and could barely walk between the bed & dresser. The kitchen appliances and few utensils are in serious need of replacemnet. The room we stayed in was clean but not maintained . During our stay the hotel experienced a power failure most of 2 days so we had no air conditioning or hot water for showers. The staff were very friendly as they delivered flashlights to each room. We couldn't sleep the night we had no power because even with the windows open it was toohot & noisy. The hotel management was reluctant to reimburse us parking fee for the inconvenience. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice although small. They do have free internet if you use your laptop in a designated area.

One of the staff in the front desk was a little b*tchy, but I put up with it because regarding the fact that I come from a faster paced society, I decided to just "hang loose" and enjoy the Hawaiian time.
When I arrived in my room, my friends and I noticed that we smelled "the smell of clean" Our room was extremely clean, and had this feeling of nostalgia due to the old fashioned design and aesthetics. Dealing with the heat and humidity, we appreciated the industrial strength a/c. A few minutes prior to our entering of our room, we decided to call housekeeping to provide us with more pillows, and they responded pretty fast; in just about 10 minutes.
The hotel pool is nothing to be raved about, but it is secluded and not many hotel guests go there. Unless you're feeling lucky that night, then it would be a perfect spot.
When we decided to book for some Hawaiian activities, we went downstairs to the lobby where they have someone that can help you. There was this elderly lady named X who was very helpful and was fun to have a conversatioin with because of her thick accent, but overall she is the persron to go to if you want to engage in some activities.
Lastly, my experience at this hotel was acceptable. It had a kitchen, therefore im able to whip out some of my 5 star dishes, also known as cup o'noodles and left overs.
