The hotel is undergoing renovations. We were lucky enough to get a newly remodel room. It was very cute and modern. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Plasma TV inside room. The location of the hotel is close to two metro stops but not close to any major sites. However, the metro is SO easy to use and goes EVERYWHERE.
Local restaurants are great! Their not as expensive as the ones near big attractions. The staff is VERY friendly and knowledgeable. We never woke up early enough for the complimentary breakfast. The elevator is small and slow but they have a spiral staircase. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice Enough. Made Better By Staff.

This hotel is not far from the Bastille. It's a small property on a busy street (Rue de Voltaire). The rooms are small as expected, but clean enough. The bathtub had a detachable shower nozzle attached to the faucet, but no shower curtain or door, so to shower you must squat down, which still sends splashes of water all over the bathroom, and isn't the least bit comfortable. Better if you're a bather. Our room didn't smell like cigarette smoke, but the hallways and lobby often did (partly due to the staff's own smoking). The mattress was less than adequate, and I'm not a particularly picky sleeper. It doesn't sound like it, but I acutally did like this hotel OK. It's close to the Rue de Boules Metro station, but it's not in a particularly attractive part of the city. However, it never felt dangerous, even when returning late at night. The windows open but there's no screen, however, that didn't seem to be a problem. It was noisy with the windows open (traffic, people yelling in the street), but with them closed, it was much quieter. The walls are pretty thin, though, so you will hear your neighbors if you have them, and they are even a little bit noisy. The staff was very nice, and always willing to accomodate you. Two of the three men working the front desk spoke English well. One man who worked at night wasn't very proficient at English. There is a small dining area in the basement that serves a breakfast of breads, cereal, cold cuts, fruit, yogurt. I thought it was included in the room cost, but only found out upon checking out that it was *E per day (two people). Overall, a good deal.
