Really Old Best Western

I knew when our cost was $65 a night, we were going to "get what we paid for." The good and bad: The room smelled really old. The bottom of our feet turned black due to unclean carpet. Cigarette stain on one of the sheets. Rips in the blankets almost like a knife was taken to it. The water was hot for showers. Towels were clean. Beds were old and bouncy. Had to unplug the bedlamp to plug in laptop. The staff was helpful when we couldn't get WiFi to work right away. Air conditioner was nice and cool. Pool was pretty and clean. The breakfast was really good. If you go away hungry, it's your fault. Coffee is Java Dave's which is really popular in Tulsa. Breakfast had assorted cereals, juices, oatmeal, muffins, donuts, bagels, bread for toast, make-your-own waffles, plenty of syrup, Country Crock, cream cheese, jelly, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy. Neighborhood is a bit "rough" but we didn't have any problems. Motel tends to cater to business traveler and race car drivers of nearby racetrack, bar is called "The Winners Circle." I think if they would clean their carpets a few times a year and do a bit more updating, this Best Western could be much better. The walls were very old fashioned, could use some wallpaper. Better sheets and blankets would really help. If you stay, just be prepared for second rate. If that doesn't matter and you just need a place to sleep, have fun.
