Loved It!!

My wife and I used travel website to plan our first trip away from the kids in 9 years. We found a killer deal on the Vacation Packages tab for airfare and a deluxe king room for 3 nights for cheap. We were worried that it wouldn't live up to expectations but it did. When we checked in the clerk knew we had booked and prepaid through travel website and we had no problems with the reservation or the bill. We had a gorgeous view from the 12 floor- floor to ceiling windors, corner room with views to the north and the east. The hotel is perfectly located near the Powell St cable car and BART station - we got the BART at SFO airport and were at the hotel 10 min after getting off the train. We could safely walk to a lot of upscale shops and restaurants and museums. If you want to stay in the heart of downtown SF, this is the place to go. Everything was nice in the room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I have traveled and lived all over the world and stayed in some of the best hotels - this one did not disappoint. We ate dinner our last night at the hotel restaurant Anzu because we were too tired to go elsewhere and the food and service were wonderful. The only downside was the business center - charged by the minute for webaccess and by the page for printing but that was minor compared to all the good things and the room WiFi access (daily fee) worked flawlessly. We checked out the workout room and pool and their looked great - we never used them because we were too busy.

Nice hotel but a bit pricy

We stayed in the executive suite which promisd a pull out sofa and free health club access. The front desk clerk told me that I would have to pay for the health club - I worked it out later, but not a great start. We did not discover that there was not a pull out sofa until it was time for our children to go to sleep - a bit disappointing. The hotel offered us another room - not in the mood to move - or a couple of rollaways which we opted for. I was really looking forward to a nice sauna, but the health club was under under construction and the sauna was not available. The pool area is really pretty with high glass ceilings that allow the sun to come through. The breakfast buffet was OK - nothing fabulous - $20 a person, not too bad. The big shocker was the $62.70 parking fee! There is a lot down the block that only costs $29.00, so we assumed that the hotel parking would be comparable - you know what they say about assuming! It was nice to have a Starbucks right there at the hotel - who doesn't like Starbucks? All and all, a very nice hotel and I would stay there again. I just wouldn't bring the kids and would rent a regular room (about half the cost of the suite, some including free breakfast).

Staying here is a MUST!!!!!

If you plan on staying in San Francisco look no further. A very beatiful and elegant hotel, right in the heart of union square. Very spacious rooms, we were fortunate enough to meet a staff member who was so kind and helpful. She gave us a Deluxe corner room that had the best views of Downtown we couldn't thank her enough. if your luck enough and they have one available definitly ask for a corner room...They have views to die for...

Nice, but pricy.

Nice clean upscale hotel near Union Square. Can't complain about the amenities, but the prices of ancillaries are high. $50/day for parking, $12.95/day for WiFi, etc. Still a nice place in a great location.

Very Comfortable Room. Central Location.

Very Comfortable Room. Central Location.

I stayed at the Hotel Nikko for business. The location is central and convenient to transportation (it's near Union Square - which other than being central doesn't have too many positives. It isn't the prettiest area.

That said, the hotel was quite comfortable. I arrived early (around noon) and the staff was able to accommodate me with an early check-in. The room was nicely appointed: very comfortable bed, good electronics and the bathroom was quite nice (with a separate shower and tub).

I didn't take advantage of any of the other hotel features (room service, gym, etc..) so can't vouch for those, but I was quite happy with the room.
