Very Comfortable Room. Central Location.

I stayed at the Hotel Nikko for business. The location is central and convenient to transportation (it's near Union Square - which other than being central doesn't have too many positives. It isn't the prettiest area.

That said, the hotel was quite comfortable. I arrived early (around noon) and the staff was able to accommodate me with an early check-in. The room was nicely appointed: very comfortable bed, good electronics and the bathroom was quite nice (with a separate shower and tub).

I didn't take advantage of any of the other hotel features (room service, gym, etc..) so can't vouch for those, but I was quite happy with the room.

I recently (July-08) stayed at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. The hotel beds are incredibly comfortable, the staff was very much on point and the decor was lovely -- but just a touch tired.

Fabulous hotel, great location, wonderful staff

My husband & I stayed here last month. I almost changed our reservation, based on quite a few negative reviews we read here. I am SO glad I kept our reservation... the hotel was fabulous. Our room was very large (the bathroom had a separate tub and shower stall bigger than any hotel bathroom we've ever had). The location is perfect. The staff were wonderful - sent us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary (and the concierge staff helped a friend of mine order and deliver a beautiful gift to our room). The flat screen TV and other audio equipment was great. They brought us an extra frig (no chrg) for all our own bottled water and snacks. We like having an "in room safe". Our room was ready (& we were early) We had a room on the 18th floor overlooking the bay. Just a short walk to the cable cars, as well as the buses. We were absolutely thrilled and can't wait to go back!!

Excellent Location - Beautiful Hotel - Unmatchable Price

I was about to book with another hotel that I had stayed at previously when I came across Hotel Nikko. It's only a few blocks from all mass transitâ€"cablecars, bus, BART. We took BART from the airport and it put us two blocks from our hotel. It's the cheapest and the fastest way to get there by far. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The interior design was beautiful Asian modern. It was sophisticated without being stuffy. Very hip. In the room the room there was a nice flatscreen tv and soft comfortable pillow top beds with beautiful, simple, white down comforters. The climate control in the room was easy to adjust to personal liking too. Something that has proved frustrating in other hotel experiences. It also has an Enterprise car rental on the first floor in case you want to spend a day to the north in Marin County or the Wine Country. You can return the car without having to drop it off at the airport at departure or worry about parking, which can be a challenge in San Francisco. There's also a Starbucks downstairs for a quick caffeine rejuvenation. A year ago, I had stayed in a hotel near Hotel Nikko, but it wasn't nearly as nice and did not have the service or the amenities. I've stayed in hotels in S.F. that were twice the price like the Pan Pacific, and Hotel Nikko is a solid contender. I would definitely stay at the Nikko again and would certainly recommend it to my family and friends.

It's cheap!

This inn is in a great location yet the rooms are very dated. Our room was tiny with torn dirty carpeting and a cracked sink that didnot drain properly. The tub was also ancient and stained. We stayed here because of travel guide reviews. It definately is in need of some TLC. The staff was okay and the morning breakfast was hardboiled eggs and packaged frozen muffins but this is an inexpensive inn. You get a bargain rate and recieve a stay in a less than stellar room but the price is a deal. If you stay here expect a fabulous location and get what you pay for.
