No better place to stay

For anyone looking for their first-time stay in London, the Landmark is amazing. The staff are extremely courteous and the area is beautiful. Even though they offer internet access, they are many cheaper internet cafes a short walk away. Plus you're next to the Marlyebone and Baker Street tube stations so the rest of the city is very accessible. The food was extremely pricey (though their in-room breakfast was worth it), but there are several restaurants in the neighbourhood. The Sherlock Holmes museum and Madame Tussaud's are nearby and tour buses pass by frequently. The rooms are very clean and quiet. My room overlooked their Winter Garden restaurant, so a lot of natural light comes in. One night, a pianist played and the music could be just barely heard through my window; it was very romantic. This would make a great hotel for couples, and that's my only complaint: that I was travelling alone! The service was incredible, so be sure you know how to tip room service and doormen accordingly. They'll really go out of their way for you.

Hotel is beautiful but the amenities are lacking to say the least. The 1st room we were placed in was immaculate but the noise was so loud from the hallway that we had to move rooms the next night. On top of that the hair dryer blew a fuse in our room so we had no lights for 45 minutes while waiting for an electrician to repair it. Sat in the dark until 9 pm and missed our dinner reservations. Breakfast in the hotel gave me food poisoning which ruined the following day.

An amazing hotel
