Unclean, & badly in need of complete renovation!

This hotel was the worst I have ever been in. Its lobby was extremely uninviting, even smaller than pictured, and the staff was equally unfriendly. The photos are misleading. The hotel is dreary, run down, and smells awful. The terrible smell was most likely due to age, and from previous water damage, of which there was evidence on both the furniture and base boards. As far as I am concerned, this hotel is unfit for guests. I am unsure how anyone could find this hotel satisfactory. I would definitely not recommend staying here, and would be suspicious of any other hotels in this particulare chain.

I have been coming to NY for 30 years and I used to be a city tour guide in NY as well so I was in NY several times a week. This is by far the best hotel for the value that I have ever stayed at. Rooms were large and comfortable. Staff was so helpful and friendly. It is a short walk to the subway and cabs were easy to get as well. The restaurant was closed but there are plenty of other places to go. I love this hotel and the staff. I am definitely returning. I stayed here with several friends and we had plenty of room for all of us compared to the pint sized rooms I have stayed in before - this was a luxury!
Great place to stay would definitely go back!

We loved our room....what more could for 4 women ask for?....we were upgraded when we checked in which was a wonderful suprise! Thank you! We had a great 2 bedroom with 2 baths, a kitchen and living room.....it was great. The room was clean, large and comfortable. We were within walking distance of the subway and just about any place that we needed/wanted to go.

Nice hotel. Great location. Not far from Empire State Building/Grand Central Station and easy to get to Subway. Hotel was surprisingly big for 4 adult men. Beds were comfortable. Suites are old apartments with living/dining area and kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Bellman and service desk were very polite and professional. Safe to walk anywhere from hotel. Few bars and small eating places within a few blocks. Disappointed that restaurant was not open and nothing was mentioned about it being closed on the travel website. Would definitely stay again! Priced great!
