Eastgate Suites

I felt like I really lucked out with this hotel. The location was perfect - within 3 blocks of Grand Central and even in 25 degree weather, easy to commute. Although I did set off the smoke alarm in the room when I used the broiler (nobody cooks in NYC, apparently), having the kitchen made the place feel like home away from home. The room itself was furnished ok, not cutting edge decor, but was comfortable, clean and efficient. The bed was very comfy. The bath was very clean with more towels than I needed. Housekeeping did a great job.

A Good Choice in Midtown

Just got back from a 6 night stay in a Studio Suite at this hotel. Everything about it was great. It is not fancy or lux, but very clean, convenient, and friendly. The location was perfect, near buses and Grand Central Station. Requests for extra towels and to fix a running toilet were answered promptly. Many resturants nearby deliver(the in-house resturant was being renovated). Don't miss the Middle-Eastern resturant on the next block--on Fri and Sat nite they have live music and a Belly Dancer!

Welll , Yes the hotel room is spacious ,but they have no amenities! no resturaunt/lounge/convenient store etc...also it is so far of the beaten path you can't even hail a cab we had to travel to 3rd street ,much of our savings for this hotel got consumed by time and travel extras. The room was clean, it seemed to be better suited for someone on extended business it layed out more like an apartment. Definately not a luxary suite ! after the front desk notably could feel our disappointment one and only one of the staff went out of his way to salvage our trip he went to 3rd ave to get our transportation for us (which of course we tipped him for his extra effort) other than that reception was unfriendly I chose this hotel based on others reviews ,this is the only reason why I am placing time to record our experience. Goodluck New York is great!

Amazing room. It is huge. I couldn't believe how spacious the room was. It was very clean and the entire staff was super nice. When we arrived our room wasn't ready because we were early, so we went walking. When we returned our bags we were alredy in our room waiting for us. Everyone should stay here!!!!

Spacious, clean and comfortable without the glitz and expense of the better known hotel chains. With the abundance of good, kid friendly and reasonably priced restaurants in the area we hardly used the well supplied kitchen. An easy walk to both cross-town and north-south buses; six blocks to Grand Central Station and subway access. Gracious, very helpful, multi-lingual staff. Free computer access for airline check in and printing boarding passes. Highly recommend this hotel as a home away from home for anyone wanting to explore and feel a part of New York City. We felt safe walking day and night.
