Traveling by car for KS to CA. The amenities list of includes a " courtesy" breakfast. Here's the courtesy from my unpleasant experience. There is no area in the hotel set aside for overnight guests to grab a free cup of coffee, glass of oj, and a bagel in the a.m... However, there are 3 restauraunts on site, not run by Holiday Inn. That's the courtesy folks.. You can buy breakfast on site..
Now if you don't want to have to pay full price, the restauraunt provides to the hotel $ discount coupons for registered guests who reserve a certain and particular room. You must request the room that gives you a $ coupon for breakfast Now, how would you know that? You are not asked that at the time you make the reservation. and as I was told you pay an extra $ for that room. So again, it's not a free or discounted breakfast.
It was a big disappointment for us needing this advertised amenitie, but it became and even bigger deal when I spoke to a manager and explained all of this and she said there was nothing she could do. That I found very hard to believe.

Uncomfortable/clean - smells like smoke

Very poor smell (smoke) - made it feel very unclean.
Bed/pillows were very uncomfortable.
AC worked great, no screen on windows (which could let bugs in if you open through the night).
Bathroom was OK - no complaints.
The place looks nice from the street, and the price was right, but I would not stay again. We were only there one night but the room (and all hallways) smelled like dingy smoke (or like they tried to cover it up). It reminded me of Las Vegas casinos where they spray strong smelling scents to cover up smoke smell. We were on the 2nd floor and the entire floor smelled the same (including our room).
I think you can find a similar deal in the area with better quality...
