Best Things About the Resort:
The Woods is close to everything. Lots of things to do for kids. This is a great family resort.
Resort Experience:
The resort itself has a very rustic feel. The RCI trades get the older section of the resort but the units are still very nice. Our two-bedroom unit was huge. My husband and I had the master suite which had its own bath and seperate whirlpool and the kids had their own "lock off" unit which included a mini kitchen and full bath.
I highly recommend going to the Owner/RCI Guests Dinner on Monday evening. Great buffet for $6 (adults) and $4 (kids 4-11) The resort even brings in Branson entertainers. The Duttons, Jim Owen, The Hughes Brothers, and Delene and Tonya Shay from Keepin' It Country were all part of the entertainment. Denny Yeary was even the MC for the evening. A representative from Thousand Hills Golf Course came to the dinner and told about his golf resort and handed out some discount coupons. As far as that goes, all the entertainers that were at the dinner handed out coupons.
Other activities the resort offers are Ice Cream Floats (M), Kids Crafts (T,W,TH), and karaoke by the pool with hot fudge and caramal sundaes for $1. Makeover, Ride the Ducks come to the resort and pick up passengers at the resort. My son made a birdhouse at one of the craft sessions and it was really nice. The cost was $7. There is also a nature trail. Not real well marked but a nice way to spend a hour at the resort.
There is also shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes right by the pool. The main pool is beautiful. There was also a smaller pool by our unit which was much smaller than the main pool. We spent most of our time at the main pool.
