Samoset Resort

Best Things Nearby:
Rockland Lighthouse and breakwater, Owl Head Lighthouse, Camden, and the Banded Galway Cows. Downtown Rockland.

Best Things About the Resort:
The entrance to the Rockland Breakwater Light is on site with easy access to the striking rock formation that juts out almost one mile into Rockland Harbor with a brick lighthouse on the end. You can walk all the way out to the end on the flat manmade rock breakwater to the lighthouse. The view is wonderful you are close to the passing ferryboats that go out Vinalhaven. Across the harbor is Owls Head Lighthouse. If you look inland, you will have a great view of the waterfront of Rockland Maine. Wear good walking shoes as the rocks can be slippery.

Resort Experience:
The Samoset is Gold Crown and has 72 timeshare units, all with private balconies or patios, with spectacular ocean views. We had a one bedroom unit that had a kitchen area with microwave oven, dining/living area with sofa bed, master suite and full bathroom. The décor is very nice, downeast Maine style. Upon entering the unit everything was clean and had a clean smell, everything is well maintained, housekeeping is great.

Dining at the Samoset at Marcel's is a great experience, or you may have a casual lunch at the Breakwater Cafe or Clubhouse Grille.

Best Things Nearby:
There is plenty of antiquing, sightseeing, and shopping in this area.

Best Things About the Resort:
Samoset has an incredible oceanfront view.

Resort Experience:
Samoset is in an incredible area. If you like scenery of any type, you will love the area. The foliage in the area is great with incredible shades of orange, gold, and red. If you like ocean scenery and golf, this is the best resort for you. The large Atlantic waterhole for their on-site golf course is breathtaking. There is a large population of older Victorian farmhouses and estate homes. It seems like everywhere you go there is another great seafood restaurant and another antique store.

Best Things Nearby:
Penobscot Bay, numerous lighthouses, and beautiful little harbor towns. Be sure to visit Pemoquid Point which is on the way to Boothbay Harbor. Camden is a beautiful little harbor town and our favorite.

Best Things About the Resort:
The Samoset Resort had a beautiful setting. Out living room had the view of golfcourse, lighthouse, and Penobscot Bay. Our room was roomy, but I would not cram four adults in it. The golf course was great and not an exhorbitant price.

Resort Experience:
Maine is a very clean place to visit and the people are very friendly. Lots of good seafood, especially lobster. Lots to do and explore.

It's just like a home away from home. You will have a nice size bedroom, with a queen size bed. There will be a separate room with the shower and the toilet, then just outside that room was the sink so you could shave or brush your teeth without tieing up the shower. From the patio door of the bedroom you can step onto the deck and walk to the patio door of the living room. Both the bedroom and the living room have TVs. From the living room you can walk into the partial kitchen. It is rated partial, but all it is missing is two burners on the stove to be complete. It has a small fridge, small stove, a convection/microwave oven, and a dishwasher.

There is a ton of storage and all kinds of room for four people. This resort is the place to be, with golf, tennis, a gym, pool, movies, and several restaurants right on site with walking trails and people everywhere to help you. You will always have something to do.

Well the unit was lovely, the furniture was beautiful, and the accommodations were cozy. All units have a superb view of the bay and have a patio or balcony, with a patio door from the bedroom and living room. It was very romantic sitting there sipping our champagne that we won from the free bingo and listening to the waves and the sounds of the sea. What a weekend getaway!
