Old bank building covered into large guest rooms with Texas size bathrooms, featuring separate showers and huge tubs. All staff personnel very friendly.
What a shame.

We really wanted to like this hotel. From the beginning, everything was just too difficult. They downgraded the room we reserved and paid for. It took nearly 30 minutes to get a key to the proper room, which forced us to cancel other plans. Lights were broken or burned out in the bathroom. Water from a previous guest was left in the ice bucket. Room service would hang up on us when we called. And, getting ice in this hotel--just forget about it. Such a shame that we had to work so hard during what was supposed to be a leisurely experience.

Hotel Icon saved me from driving from Dallas to New Orleans overnight. I was completely lost and the receptionist was more than happy to stay on the phone with me until I arrived. They treated me like royalty my entire visit. I will only stay at Icon when I'm in Houston from now on.

What an unexpectedly gorgeous hotel in a super convenient location in downtown Houston. I booked it because it was inexpensive compared to other hotels downtown. Wow, did I score! If you love restored old buildings, this is the place. Classic elegance yet hip and trendy.
