Good Hotel, Parking Iffy

We visit S.A. at least twice annually, and usually stay on the Riverwalk. This hotel had a nice room, courteous staff(with 1 exception), Parking was a big problem. On returning from a dinner party around 11 P.M. on Saturday, the hotel parking was clogged with cars and no spaces available. We were forced to park in public parking garage 11/2 blocks away. night hotel manager apologetic and blamed nearby theater goers using the hotel parking(no apparent attempt to stop them. My bill was discounted for the stated foul up. Since I plan a return trip in Sept., I attempted to discuss parking with day manager the next morning. This individual was flippant, condescending, and basically blew me off. She stated "This happens every weekend, we don't guarantee a parking place. If you can't park we just take the $16 charge off your bill." I tried to state the different perception of the night manager, but she obviously wasn't listening, so I checked out and left. My return stay in Sept will most certainly be at a different hotel. Too many good hotels in the area to deal with that kind of hassle.

OK, nothing great

Arrived to our room to find long black hair all over the shower, toilet, and bathroom floor. Called housekeeping twice but wasn't cleaned until the next day. Carpet was damp & smelled bad; balcony was not clean. Paid extra for a river-view room and had a great view of a tree. Beds and linens were ok. The room was starting to show some age. There was no complimentary breakfast, but the buffet was good and kids ate free. Good location- close to the riverwalk without having a lot of foot traffic right outside the window. Probably would not stay here again. They're so many new hotels being built that I'd look elsewhere first.

Nice Hotel, but add an additional $16.00 for parking

My family and had a good experience at this hotel. Its one block from the riverwalk. Three blocks from the Alamo and about 4 from the mall area. Its all within walking distance and I felt safe walking around the downtown area, even after sundown. The hotel had a friendly staff and the room was clean and the bed and shower were fine. Be prepared for the $16.00 parking fee when you check out. We didnt seem to mind because the downtown area had some expensive parking and $16.00 for the day and night didnt seem so bad.

Great Location!

We had been in San Antonio several years ago and we wanted to share our experience with someone new. For this, we wanted to come up with a location that would deliver the same feeling and atmosphere. We did not go wrong by choosing this hotel. From the first night we arrived we were able to take advantage of the proximity to the River Walk. The following days it proved to be just as accessible to public transportation as it was to reaching points of interest on foot. The staff was extremely helpful and the room was well maintained. Have no complaints. Would definitely recommend to friends.

The hotel was clean. The restaurant service was poor. We went during spring break, and the hotel restaurant did not seem prepared for the number of guests who stayed. In the morning, the wait to be seated was about 20 minutes. Room service did not pick up. At dinner one night, the water was delivered, but no one came back to take our order. After 20 minutes, I had to find someone to take my order. Afterwards, my order was delivered promptly. The saving grace was that young children ate free. Also, the hotel restaurant was cheaper than restaurants on the Riverwalk. Despite the food service, it was nice to stay on the Riverwalk and within walking distance of many attractions.
