Our room was really nice, but did not have a tub, only a shower. That was my only complaint. The room had double beds, a television, a mini refrigerator, a safe, a coffeepot, a hair dryer, a dresser, and a balcony overlooking the ocean and beach.
Outside of the lobby area was a nice, outdoor pool area, and then past that was the beach. The beach was really nice, and the water was just beautiful, as it was so clean and clear.
We were within walking distance to many of the restaurants and shops. There were also restaurants at the hotel.
The beach in front of our hotel offered many services. You could get chairs or umbrellas and also do a number of water activities. We took a guided sailing trip one day, and the view was wonderful. You could see the bottom of the ocean even in 30-feet-deep water.
This was a nice hotel, and I probably would stay there again on a future trip to Hawaii.

There are three separate dining establishments right at the hotel, all of which had good food for moderate to expensive budgets.
The location is great - right on the beach and for getting around all of Waikiki by foot. There is a nice pool (and hot tub) that gets sun for a good portion of the day. The water's edge is a bit rocky, so you really needed to watch your step getting in and out of the water. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for about $30 per day or bring your own towel/mat to lay on. They also offer rental of surfboards, floats and snorkeling equipment. The concierge's desk has all the info needed for arranging any kind of tour or activity.
The lobby area has several shops and entertainment each evening.
I was disappointed upon check-in to discover that the much-touted (and requested when making our reservations and pricing) Voyager's Club was no longer available. And, further, that no offer was made to compensate us for this loss. I was told I would have to contact the manager myself. Well, I didn't, but upon arriving home and telling my sister about this (she had recommended this hotel and has been going there for two weeks each year for several years), she contacted the manager, who unfortunately didn't have any words of sympathy or apology. To my further annoyance (but my daughter's enjoyment), when my daughter checked in a few days after me, her room (which she had reserved on orbitz at a MUCH lower cost) was upgraded so that she could be on the same floor as us! Like I said, great for her, but I had to pay almost double what she paid for the same room! So, overall, while the hotel is nice and the location is great, I was expecting the cost of the room to include breakfast each morning and it didn't. I was expecting to have internet access, which I didn't (with the closure of the Voyager's Club, the internet service now costs) and it cost me $9.00 to do my airline electronic check-in the night before departure.
For my next visit, I will look for a less expensive hotel, since the extra perks are no longer available at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.
