We where aware of the renovations prior to booking. So when I booked I called to ask that we not be on the pool side and in ensure we had a queen bed with the pullout. We had one of children meeting us there for the vacation. There seemed to be a bit of a problem for our dauther when she checked in ahead of us. The room did not have the beds as requested and the room overlooked the pool. When I asked at the front desk basically I was told sorry but that's all we have. Later in the week I heard the front desk staff talking about not being very full. So I don't feel that that particular staff member I dealt with was overly concerned about the customer. All the other staff were exceptional. The bellmen/conci service was the best we have found on 3 continents. The most famous beach in the world just took our breath away. It is a wonder. Found the whole area beautiful to look at, but the noise of business/people etc. detracts from what Hawaii is. Won't go back to this area will definately return to the islands. Outrigger was very lovely, and overall good experience.

Nicely remodeled rooms - just gorgeous. I had a beach view, and loved watching the sunset/sunrise each day. Since I'm addicted to music, I loved having the iPod connector to the radio. They are doing a great job keeping the pool and other construction as concealed as possible so it did not bother me at all. Fantastic location, staff, EVERYTHING!

I stayed in a room with a balcony that had a view of the beach! The hotel did a great job with the room renovations. My room was spacious and clean. I loved the fact that I had a room with a balcony and could sit outside and hear the waves. The staff was amazing. From the moment I stepped out of the cab, the check-in/check-out process - there was always someone available to help. Loved the fact that there was internet access in the lobby areas as well as in the room! Great hotel in a nice location for an excellent price!

I have to first give a huge compliment to the staff ? everyone was so nice, and comforting. When we first checked into the hotel we were both a little worn down from the trip, and as we approached the elevator a hotel employee walking by hit the ?up? button for us without hesitation. He just saw us coming and took the extra second to help us out ? he didn?t even stop ? he just hit the button as he walked by?it?s the small details that set this hotel apart. It didn?t stop there ? the restaurant staff, the beach activity staff, and the front desk staff all made our stay warm and welcome. The hotel is starting to look beautiful ? they are just finishing up a renovation and they rooms are great (I even peeked under the sheets at the mattress because it was so comfortable). I first thought the renovation noise would be an issue, but we didn?t even notice anything. We had a great view from our room of Diamond Head, and down the beach. I can?t wait to come back to see the complete renovations. Also, the location is actually perfect because it?s a nice way to enjoy the beach by walking to dinner, and on the street side; it?s located right on the strip for shopping. The only bad part of our trip was when we had to leave? Note: if you are a surfer the waves are better in front of the this hotel than down the beach where the crowds gather ? there are 2 really fun breaks, and go for the 10? board?I paddled out every morning and got plenty of fun rides!

The Outrigger Reef was an excellent choice to stay. Great beach front location, also close to restaurants, shops etc. Rooms were spacious and we got a sea view from the balcony. Hotel staff was courteous, always smiling and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect! The hotel restaurants had excellent food with breathtaking views of the ocean and Diamond Head. I look forward to visiting again soon!
