Customer service was awesome. The "Continental Breakfast" was a joke. The orange juice was watered down, the apple juice tasted bad, They had a few bagels, and no cereal. The room was decent, nothing to complain about for the most part.

Not a four star resort but...

You can't beat this place for the money. I saw all the positive feedback for this place so I decided to try it...glad I did. It's an old place so if the bathroom door doesn't line up perfectly or the hot water momentarily goes cold, take it in stride. The cleanliness and the new furniture and carpeting make this Econolodge a comfortable place and great value. It's very close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg and close enough to the Route 60 corridor, restaurants and entertainment are close-by. Use the money you save to go out to breakfast unless you don't mind toast, donuts, juice, cereal and coffee. It is a little off the beaten path and a little hidden but once you know where you are, that becomes a non-issue. Too cold to use the outdoor pool. Would definitely recommend the Colonial to families looking for a bargain.

Giood value for the money.

I was expecting a decent room based upon prior reviews. The hotel lived up to our expectations. The room was very clean. We only stayed overnight and we did not have time to check out the pool. The location was great. The hotel is a good value for the money spent. We will stay there again.

We arrived here on April 2nd after stopping in Fredericksburg for a day. I had not stayed in a hotel in this area for years. I have a camping membership and usually stay there. The price was good and the room was OK. It wasn't the Hilton...but it was not terrible either. The Internet did not work in the room, that bugged me.
