FIND ANOTHER HOTEL

I choose this place due to other reviews. Well my room wasn't ready til 5 pm, wasted 2 1/2 hrs waiting instead of being able to relax at pool, to get the type of room I requested was a fight. For 2 days no housekeeping and then had to call on 2 other days and complain and front desk treated like I was asking alot. These folks have alot of attitude and excuses. The bed covers had stains on them and the sheets and towels are far from soft, beds are too soft and so are oillows, took 3 just to get comfy. When arrived no one helped me with my bags thru thier extremely heavy doors and the steps. My phone was broken and I ointed it out everyday and never fixed. Also the noise was hoorible, from the actual employees. I was in a room near the employee elevators and I am going home more exhausted then when I arrived. The concierge, e was down right rude and spoke down to you but took full credit in how wonderful she thought she was. I have never written a review before but I feel I got skunked, stay somewhere else , there is a goliday inn 1/2 away and on charters st a beautiful w hotel, a little more but 100 times nicer and the staff when I stopped to look at it was friendlier to me then at me own hotel that I was staying and paying $200 a night. Oiece of crap place. I have stayed at holiday inn near airports that were better. For all their fancy icing the cake itself is stale and overpriced.

Already booking my next trip!

We stayed here for 4 nights and got nothing but great service from everyone! We loved how nice and fiendly everyone one to us the moment we got there. The hotel is a great location and close to everything, and you are able to book tours inside the hotel. Staying here and traveling to the French Quater was the best vacation experience I've had yet. Stay here you won't regret it!!

FaaaaaaBulous!

I recently had a chance to get back to N'Awlins for a dental convention. I usually stay at The W or a guesthouse on Ursuline but neither was available so I searched for another place to stay and stumbled across the Monteleone.

I'll admit that I didn't much care for the decor. I'm not a big fan of striped wallpaper, the fussy curtains, the armoir with the TV inside...I like contemporary furnishings.

But in spite of that I seriously enjoyed or stay because every single hotel employee was so damn nice!

Check-In was a breeze and we felt genuinely welcomed by the guy checking us in. The ladies who served us the Fabulous breakfast in the restaurant downstairs were wonderful, the doorman seemed so happy to be there to open the door for us, and everybody we encountered was wonderful!

The location was great. Close to Bourbon St. but far enough away for comfort.

We loved the rooftop pool / spa. We didn't use either but wandered up there one afternoon to nose around and found some awesome views. I have every intention of returning for cocktails at the poolside bar one evening. Wow!

The rooms were small. No doubt....but then what on earth are you doing spending time in your room when you are in N'Awlins, sweetie? Get off your butt and get out there in the street! You can watch a movie at home! Do you realize that there is a fabulous city out there to explore?

I really enjoyed the Monteleone and I'll stay there again.

We loved the room...not large but very nicely appointed, good beds, robes are always a nice extra, great shower, deep tub...all in all a nice room. Only thing missing is a balcony but there is a beautiful pool in a cozy area on the roof which has sun and shade. Had the breakfast buffet which was very good..crawfish omelet, yummy grits and old fashioned biscuits. The best part is the location.. You can walk to everything, close to the action but not In it 24/7.The Carousel Bar is in the hotel, open late, actually revolves...fun place to start or end the evening. Go see Big Al Carson at the Funky Pirate!! What a voice!!

Excellent location

Outside of Paris, most comfortable bed I ever slept in. Everyone from the front desk to the doorman were very courtious & friendly. Would definately stay here if I visit New Orleans again. You can walk to everywhere. Nice restaurant (recommended by trolley car driver) 2 blocks away..The Star Steak & Lobster on 237 Decatur...very reasonable compared to French Quarter resturants & filet mignon was excellent..nice atmosphere too. The pool is beautiful, we spent a few hours there & it was March. Really loved the Monteleone Hotel..(Skip the swamp tours if you've been on one already, not too much to see).
