My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a total of five days. We had a room on the 12th floor with two double beds. We had a memorable stay and will recommend this hotel to anyone.
I'll start with location: The hotel has an excellent location in Midtown Manhattan. 42nd Street was a breeze to adapt to and was very safe. Food: EXCELLENT!!!! Employees: extremely friendly, courteous and helpful, in fact they managed to be quite flexible with room service menus...even after 10:00pm! Check in and check out were equally pleasant, while the doormen never hesitated to lend a helping hand to hail a cab or even assist with luggage.
Overall, our stay was quite positive. The negatives: well, the bathroom fixtures are in need or repair/replacements. Showering was a chore because of the malfunctioning faucet and poor showerhead and the fine tuning required for an acceptable water temperature. Also, every sound made in the bathroom could have been heard in the hall, and in the room next door. Like clockwork, we involuntarily learnt our 'next door neighbour's" showering routine (as I am sure, they learnt ours). Housekeeping: Overall the hotel appeared to be very clean, however, the thick carpet, dusty lampshades and old blankets had us under the influence of allergy medication daily. Comfort: the mattress didn't really offer much back support, but all other amenities gave the room a 'homey feel.'
Apart from those few thorns, we had a great stay. I know that the next time we're in NY, we will stay there.

My two friends and I stayed here for 5 nights. We had no complaints. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, very secure at night and a great location. It was 2 blocks from Grand Central Station. Two blocks from United Nations building and about half a block from Chrysler building. You can also walk to the NY library, Times Squares, Empire State building and much more. We didn't even have to spend a fortune on our room. It was a good size with two double beds(full size) for 3 ladies. We were happy with our room! It was our first trip to NYC and it won't be our last! I would definetely stay at this hotel again.

I spent nine nights in this hotel with my 2 grown daughters and best friend all in one room - 2 double beds. We wanted to keep hotel costs down so we could spend more money on meals, sightseeing, entertainment, and shopping. We had originally booked into a b&b on the upper east side but that got cancelled on us a week before our trip so getting booked into this hotel was last minute. We couldn't have asked for a better place. All the staff we met were very helpful and keen to make our stay a good one. Asked for a bar fridge and extra robes - they arrived promptly. Had a question about heat in our room - hotel engineer called me back within a couple of minutes. It's in a quiet location, clean, and had darkening blinds in room. We walked so much during our stay because we were so close to so many places. As mentioned before, Pax next door is great for breakfast and lunch - inexpensive healthy food options. Pret a Manger is right across the street. 24 hour drugstore 3 doors down. Only a few blocks to the East river which has a decent walking/jogging route. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

Very Nice Hotel

The hotel appearance was lovely. the rooms were nice and very clean. We had an issue with the television not working and in less than 5 minutes after calling the desk, the maintenance engineer was there and had it fixed and re-programed within another 5 minutes. The bellmen were also very nice and friendly. The area was nice, but a bit far from Times Square which is where we spent a lot of time. Yes, we took the Subway at Grand Central to Times Square each day to get theatre tickets, but it was a bit inconvenient to go back to the hotel due to the fact that it was out of the way due to the events that we were scheduled to attend.
The only reason I would not stay there again is because of the location to Times Square. The hotel was WONDERFUL!!!
