Convenient at a good rate

Was in town for a convention. Hotel is 1/2 between Dupont Circle and Woodley Park Metro stations so became a Washingtonian -- parked car in nearby garage for the week and walked or took the Metro. Street parking is limited to residents. Close to convention site, plenty of restaurants, National Zoo. Older hotel -- shows wear. Room was good size -- plenty of room in closet for clothes and suitcases. Only one small elevator but is next to stairs. Wireless access in room was impossible (I think closet got best reception) but PCs are available in room off lobby.

Hidden in a tiny nook, this cozy hotel is great for people on a budget needing a place to stay. It is surrounded by embassies, about a mile or two from the zoo, and in the safer part of D.C. Also, right across the bridge is the Woodly Park Metro station, and multiple ethnic restaurants. The service is friendly, and the rooms are exceptionally clean. It isn't a chain hotel, so there is no fancy restaurant. Despite that, in the morning there area complimentary bagels, muffins, cinnamon buns, coffee, tea, and orange juice. Also, with a CVS nearby and a fridge in the room (and ice machine downstairs), you can keep food in the room with you. There is a small lobby with two computers and free Internet access, so if you don't have a laptop you need not worry. The only negative things that can be said is that the beds were slightly uncomfortable. Otherwise it was great!

Not a place for road warriors

The only business amenity is free wireless internet; but had to change rooms to get a signal. Desks are small or non-existant and do not have lamps or phones on them, much less anywhere near a power outlet. The bathrooms are small and shabby (though clean) and rooms dingy with very poor lighting. The place is clean, but nowhere near what I consider adequate. Also there are no coffee makers in the room and no restaurant so forget room service.

Even though the hotel is older it is still nice and clean. It is located in the middle of the embassies so we felt safe. Parking is a hassle though.
