We stayed at this hotel in April 2009 and I cannot say enough good things about it! I never noticed the "thin walls" the previous reviewer mentioned. I slept like a baby! My daughter will be attending Anne Arundel Community Collge in the fall and we visited Annapolis to tour the campus, find her a place to live and take in the sights. The price cannot be beat for this type of hotel. I used to travel extensively around the US and this hotel is a great bargain!
Annoyed with Check-In

When we checked in (exactly at 4:00) we were told that although we'd booked a King room, there were none available at the time, so we could either check into a double room or wait a bit and get one after it was cleaned. When we got to the front desk again after idling for half an hour in the bar, the same receptionist told us that there were no King rooms at all, because the hotel had been overbooked. When I inquired why we had been told we could wait for one, she responded that there had been NO rooms available when we first tried to check in ;which was decidedly NOT what she had told us at the time. It seemed pretty clear that she had just given our room away, and I would have felt better if she had just admitted an honest mistake. I understand that she could not help it if the hotel was overbooked - there were several wedding parties there that weekend&- , and having a double room was not a problem, but we were miffed that we sat and waited for absolutely no reason. She was decidely unapologetic although, when I pressed the issue, offered us coupons for the breakfast buffet, which helped.
Doubletree Annapolis Review

I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for the usual Doubletree experience. I have stayed both Orlando Doubletrees, and the services that I experienced there were much better than the one that I experienced here in Annapolis. During the third night, the key lock on my door did not work, so the maitenence crew had to burst the lock open, get all of our stuff, and move us to a different room. My boyfriend's charger was lost/stolen in the process. The rooms were nice and clean, but the hallways and hotel itself was seemingly dirty. I might be a bit critical because the other times I have visited the Annapolis area I have stayed at the Westin and Loews hotels, which are 100 times better in my opinion.
Thin walls

Over all this hotel was fine, but the one thing I took exception to was the thin walls and poor noise insulation. Because the walls were thin, I could hear the guy in the next room over talking on his cell phone (I could hear his entire conversation word for word) and all about the reason for his trip to DC. I could also hear what he was watching on TV and that he slept with the TV on all night. I couldn't say that he was particularly noisy, it was just that the noise insulation was bad.
A Great Hotel....Would Stay here again!

I am very impressed by this hotel. It was very clean and safe, and the staff was incredibly nice. There is a free shuttle bus at the hotel that runs from 7am until 11pm. The shuttle took us down town and to the Naval Academy and picked us up with just a simple phone call. They were always there within 10 minutes. The shuttle drive XXX was so friendly. I will definitely stay here again, it is a clean, comfortable and safe hotel. Just wish they had an indooor pool!
