Rooms were big with balcony, front desk staff very attentive and right across from the beach. Just not that the beach chairs on the beach cost $10 each, but hotel does provide beach towels.

Not what I expect of a Marriott

The public spaces in the hotel were OK but the room fell far short of what I expect of a Marriott, more of an Econolodge level of quality and service. I understand that the hotel is under renovation so I'll give them a break on the scuffed-up walls and the ripped sofa cushion. But there was dirt in the corner of the bathroom floor that wasn't swept up during our stay even after we dropped a perfume bottle and left a note asking the housekeeper to be extra careful in sweeping. The intake for the HVAC was coated in dust -- my wife is allergic! -- and the carpet was stained. The smallish kitchenette had dishes, glasses, and flatware but the dirty dishes were never taken away. Renovation is no excuse for or obstacle to cleanliness and efficient service. While the hotel is in a busy tourist strip, note that there are NO in-house restaurants. The gift shop has a fairly-complete convenience store and sort-of deli but to eat a sit-down meal you have to leave the hotel and walk through a rather ugly, half-empty shopping plaza. I can't finish this review without mentioning how infuriatingly slow the elevators were. It was not uncommon to wait 2-3 minutes for an elevator! One time we decided to take the stairs down to the lobby only to find out that once in the stairs, there was no reentry to the building.

Will not return

The elevators were so slow! It took up to 20 minutes to access the elevator and then it was crammed full, mostly of the hotel staff. I once had to wait for 4 stops before there was room in the elevator. The staff rushed in before guests, then getting off on each floor. The housekeeping carts were huge jamming into guests. The elevators were like cattle cars. The remote control in the room did not work. No shampoo or toiletries in bathrooms. Very poor lay-out of hotel. Will not return. Not representative of your typical Marriott.

Great location, but hard to find from the street. I was lost for a short while. There was plenty of dining options thanks to the outdoor mall. Rooms were a little out dated. Everything even internet access was an additional cost.
