Great Value and very different

I travel alot and this was my first stay at this hotel. I have read the reviews and I do know that this is not for everyone. It is not a "cookie-cutter" hotel. It decor is European and castle like. Full of antiques and paintings. The staff at the front desk --Debbie--was great and the food and service in the Library dining room was good. Charles was my server. Nice gentleman and made sure I had everything I needed. If you like bright, chrome and shine--do not go to this hotel. If you like warmth and charm, I am sure you will like it. I will be back to this hotel the next time I am in town.

I have stayed at many hotels and this is about the worse ever...the rooms, hallway, elevator, stairs are dark, smell of smoke, the place feels like a fire trap, and they say the "wireless" works in their rooms---it does not....don't look too close or you will feel ill...dusty, dirty curtins, ugly carpet and drak colors..

This is a very nice hotel. My husband and I stay here frequently when we come to Urbana. The service is usually good, the rooms are nice, and the decor is beautiful. The only real complaint is that the internet doesn't work above the second floor, due to iron beams, so you have to go to the lobby to log on. Otherwise, easily worth the money.

Think of going to Medieval Times and staying overnight. The hallways are long and dark. Was German themed but is now pseudo English yet, names remain German on suites. Decor borders on silly. The exterior is a disgrace and is attached to a pathetic mall. Staff seemed disinterested.Room was a decent size; bath was small and shower poor.Suggest that you take a pass on this one.
