We had already spent two days at another "spa hotel" in the area before we stayed at the Fairfield. The difference quality of the the beds and linens was remarkable. I had to go to the Fairfield to get a good night's sleep. The room, especially the bathroom, was immaculate. The complimentary breakfast provided was excellent. There was a lot of variety and substance, not your usual cold bagel or muffin. The staff was attentive and professional.

Front desk could not believe the rate of $71/night that I got online. Would stay there again...the breakfast was plentiful, the bed very comfy and even had good pillows!! Close by all eateries.

Best hotel bed we ever slept in

The room was spacious and immaculate. The mattress was so unbelievably comfortable that I stripped off the sheets to find the brand name--Serta. There were 4, count em, 4 good-sized pillows on the bed, so we did not need the extra pillows we always bring along. Breakfast included an unusual variety of selections, and the food was of high quality. Several good restaurants nearby, and the location is good-- just on the outskirts of Boone.

Not What We Expected

We booked this room (217) for 3 nights, but checked out the very next morning. We went there to spend our anniversary...away from the kids, 1 of which is an infant. The window had a view of a WALL - SERIOUSLY! The Jacuzzi had red wine spilled on the edge from last occupant and some of the jets didn't work. The insulation was so poor in our room that every time the front sliding doors of the hotel opened and shut, it sounded like thunder. We kept getting up to look out the window to see if a storm was coming. Of course, all we could see was a wall. We were unfortunate enough to be placed next to a rather rude guest with screaming children who kept us awake until after 11pm. There was a double door that connected our rooms. It was so poorly insulated that it felt like we were in the same room with them. Not only that, but every time they, or anyone else, went into or out of their room, the door would slam, and it was so loud it actually made us jump! We were awakened at around 3am to the sound of one of the children crying, and again at 6am, when they woke up. We chose to check out that morning even though we were scheduled to stay for 3 days. The lady on duty was kind enough to clear our bill for us because of all the trouble. While we were discussing our grievances with her, the lady in line behind us also commented on the poor insulation in her room. We booked a room at the Green Park Inn. We had to pay a little more, but it was clean and QUIET!
