no power on Friday night

Hotel was clean, staff friendly but
we had no power in our room from a little after 9 pm to 2 am. We used matches to go to bathroom, had no heat etc.
The hotel did not tell us the truth, PG&E working on it but I went outside and could see no one working on it.
No kind of partial refund; they said they had power all afternoon - but who stays in the hotel in the afternoon - one wants to explore the area, eat out etc.
will never go to this hotel again.

The rooms were substandard- outdated furniture, crumbling and dirty bathrooms, and worn towels. The shower door in my room was broken, the wall moldings next to the bathroom sink were sliding down (not sure if it was due to shoddy installation or exposure to the 'elements'), the caulking was cracked and moldy, and the toilet flush was weak.

Having lived for years in Monterey and knowing the area well, this hotel is a good deal. The breakfast is extensive, for the price. The location is not the best for a visit as a tourist to Monterey, but it is convenient. The price for the hotel is very reasonable for what you get- actually the best around. We stay as a family in Monterey about 4 or 5 times a year. This will now be the hotel we come back to.

The hotel was slightly better than expected. The room was clean with a few modern updates. They offer free breakfast that is decent with Belgian waffles. Do NOT relay on the wake up call. We never received it. Management is lacking but otherwise, decent enough to crash here.

The room was great, clean very private. The employees were courteous and helpful with room and directions of where we needed to go.
