Nice but Expensive

This is very upscale Best Western and you can tell by the price you pay per night for your room. The staff was very friendly and helpful with fresh baked cookies everyday at 2pm, but the price was a bit too high for a casual weekend or any weekend at all in San Diego. I was not aware how many other hotels were around my location and within walking distance to the marina, I should have researched better because they were far more competitive in their prices. I could have saved $200 just by staying across the way. =( But in hand I do have to add that the Staff went over and beyond to make sure your comfort there was anything but perfect.

Stayed in the Casa Del Mar building on the second floor. It was hot and the air conditioner made more noise, then blow cool air. The rooms need to be updated, but the location was wonderful. Nice quiet area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Computer with free internet in main lobby was a great help. Would stay here again.

We stayed in their Casa Del Mar building -2nd floor- which was separate from the main building. We had a huge suite with a kitchenette. We also had a view of the Bay which was beautiful. The decor is a bit dated that was to be expected. It is 10 minutes from all major attractions. Near many restaurants. I would stay here again.

Traumatic Nightmare

Do not stay here. It is not worth the $ you will spend. Rooms are tiny, dark, perhaps a coal mine might be better lite. You have two options for a shower; HOT HOT HOT or Icicles on your nose. Unlike a typical Best Western there was not a continental breakfast, we waited 25 min. and still our order had not been taken. Spend $* more and stay in La Jolla! The hotel looks nothing like the pictures that are posted on this website. It is old and dingy.
