Excellent Hotel

This Hotel was a pleasure to stay at, the staff was very helpful and most of them could speak at least some English. breakfast always had something good to eat and a variety of fresh fruit. Chines food is different than we are used to in the west but if you give it a try there is allot of tasty food to enjoy. the carpet was a little old but nothing to worry about. the in room safe was a plus and if needed you can exchange currency at the front desk. if you stay try out the rooftop bar at night it is a great view. it is a good value for the money and I would stay again. if you visit China in the summer be ready it is hot and very humid. enjoy your trip. Marlon, from Oklahoma City USA.

This hotel was very nice for the price. I?d definitely stay there again. Location is good, close to the bund but not really close to the subway and not that easy to get to pudong even though u can see it across the river from the hotel. The tunnels to pudong require you to go backtrack a bit. Otherwise it was a great hotel for the price with clean rooms, nice comfortable beds and fairly new furnishings.

A Quite Enjoyable Stay

We booked a deluxe bund-view room with a king bed, but were given a regular bund-view room with two double beds. I called the front desk and was told the type of room we booked was all full. The girl said she could move us to another room tomorrow. I refused her offer and demanded an upgrade right away. 2 minutes later, she called and moved us to the executive floor, where we stayed for the entire 5 nights. (I speak fluent Chinese, which probably helped a lot.) Other than that incident, we were very satisfied with the room and the staff. The hotel is located in a not-so-pleasant neighborhood, but near many city attractions.

Excellent value for the money.

Overall I was very pleased with this hotel. I got a three day package at a great rate in a city where hotels are very expensive. I had all the standard ammenities and a pool. The location, although not attractive was close to everything and I had a fabulous view of the city from the 20th floor. The staff was pleasant, especially the concierge who gladly wrote the names of places I wanted to see in Chinese for cab drivers. I also enjoyed the pool which was open late, but the sauna and steam room were not open. Maybe because I was there in slow season (January). On the down side, the carpets need replacement and the food was awful, but everything I ate in China was awful. Hotel breakfasts are always overpriced. I booked the least expensive room, so it was tiny, but attractive. I would recommend upgrading to a larger room. Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again.

Rude and inconsiderate!

Staff is rude and inconsiderate. I reserved a suite and they gave us a regular room. When I asked for a suite they moved us to a "suite" that was unfurnished in the living room area. The concierge staff was not helpful or not knowledgeable about the area. They steered us in the wrong areas and direction two different times. The breakfast in this hotel was horrible, let me repeat horrible. The restaurant was dirty, let me repeat dirty. I would not recommend this hotel. Location was not that great either. This was the worst hotel of our 2 week trip to China.
