Nice hotel, but our stay could have gone better

My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton Gunter during our vacation in South Texas. The hotel offered comfortable, well-appointed rooms close to the San Antonio Riverwalk. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would consider staying at this hotel again. However, there were a couple of things that prevent me from rating the hotel a 5 out of 5. First, our room was not ready at the hotel-designated check-in time. It was a minor issue and the helpful desk staff appropriately comped me for the inconvenience. Second, our room had a door to the adjoining room. Noisy neighbors (children making noise for the better part of the night) kept us awake for part of our first night there. It's unfortunate about the door to the adjoining room...if it wasn't for that door, we would have never heard the noise through the hotel's solid walls.

Hotel was very clean and nice - room was fairly small but big enough for what we needed. Location was great, only a short walk to River Walk access and not much farther to Alamo one way and Market Square the other. Parking the only issue - $20+ for valet but several parking garages very close by. Didn't use restaurant and never found the pool, but didn't look that hard.

Great Staff, nice firm mattresses.I was disappointed to find out that they only served Club members Continental breakfast and not the entire hotel(bummer).Overall it's a great hotel and I would stay again.

The Hotel was wonderful. It is in a good location near the theaters. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/dressing area had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking attendent was very helpful. He went and got things for us from our car instead of us having to go to where it was parked. We would stay at this hotel again.

I had stayed here 16 years ago and it was an Awesome Grand Hotel. Today, Parking is overpriced at $22.00 per day. and The Resturants are not as good as years ago. Bakery is the Best for the dollar for food there. Beds a Very Nice, Bathrooms should really be re-modeled and updated, enlarged... you get the idea. Staff is excellent, it remains a fine place to stay, but for my money, their are far better now in San Antonio for the same..
