We checked in early, they had our room ready. They upgraded us to a suite for no extra charge. 1st time visitors of DC. Staff very friendly and very eager to help. Felt like royalty. Recommend to people with family as we travelled with 2 small children. Room very spacious very clean. Bed very comfortable. My one and only one complaint is that the room was so large that the air conditioning didn't cool off the living area very well. Was over 100 that weekend.

Our family decided to visit Washington, D.C. for an overnight visit. We chose the St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites based on the description online. I must say, our experience was better than we could have hoped. Once we arrived, we were promptly greeted at the front door and assisted to check-in. At check-in, we were pleasantly suprised that they graciously upgraded us to a suite, which was wonderful to say the least. Very clean, large, and comfortable. We ventured out of the hotel to find the neighborhood surrounding very clean and friendly. Plenty of restaurants nearby. We took an Old Town Trolley tour of the city, which picked us up within walking distance of the hotel. After our long day, we we again greeted at the door and helped in with all our bags from the day. Upon check-out the next morning, they held our bags and allowed us to keep the car there until we were done our sightseeing. We will definitely go back to Washington, D.C., as there is still so much more for us to explore. When we do, our family will definitely stay and the St. Gregory again.

LOCATION : Excellent
Within downtown business district DC. Most sights are within a zone, so cab fare for 2 would be more or less $10-11. This would include going to Georgetown, Lincoln Memorial and the White House area. The nearest bus stop is 2 blocks from the hotel, and definitely cost less.
CVS Pharmacy, McDonald’s, Subway and Pizza Hut are within or a block away. Just a bit farther but not more than 3 blocks away is a great asian restaurant, MEI WAH and Walgreen’s.
ACCOMMODATION : Excellent
The King Suite had a separate bedroom, living room and kitchen.
The bathroom was spacious and had great/bright lighting (which is a “must” for most women). Contrary to one review I read on the water pressure, in the 5 days we were there, hot water and abundance of water was never a problem. Toiletries were good except for a shower cap so for women like me, who consider it an essential, bring one.
Kitchen appointments included, a dishwasher, a fridge, a 4-stove top oven, microwave, coffeemaker and dishes/cutlery for 2. All these makes it very convenient for take out food or heat up some bakery goodies that you can buy during a day out.
Tea and coffee was refilled daily and not just the usual 2 packs but 4 packs a day!
Aside from iron and ironing board, they also offer complimentary shoe shine. Guests only need to have their shoes that need shining hanging by their door knob before midnight. A shoebag with accompanying room tags/info is provided daily together with the toiletries.
There won’t be any bickering on what show to watch on tv as there are 2 tvs. A flat screen plasma in the living room and another tv the bedroom (not a plasma but still great!).
SERVICE : Excellent
From the doormen, porter, front desk, room service and restaurant staff, one gets optimum customer service!
Being first-timers in DC, we were offered not just answers to our questions on directions but more importantly, given insider recommendations on restaurants. When we wanted the address of a restaurant we were planning to dine in the following night, a computer print-out of the restaurant’s website with directions and other info was ready in an envelope we found (pushed under) by our room door the following morning when we awoke. THAT is service!
The simplest of greetings as in “welcome back” after each return to the hotel and the cordial greetings made us feel more than mere hotel guests.
AMENITIES: Good
Considering the kitchen en-suite, it did not matter much that the Room Service was only until 10PM.
Other notables within the hotel premises were the ATM, the vending machine on the 2nd floor (inside the Gym Room) and the Business Center at the 2nd Floor, where one can print out your boarding pass/es for return trip.
The ONLY 2 things that we would recommend the hotel look into are:
• that piece of “reminder/notice” (politely worded as it is), placed prominently on the bed (and every day when the room is made up) about refraining from putting suitcases, and other things that may stain to avoid charges and,
• taking into account the above reminder, to have more than one suitcase valet stand in each room.
Overall, St. Gregory is our DEFINITE choice in our return to DC.

I am 22 and took my brother (18) to D.C. to see to look around since he was considering going to college there. The staff was amazing. We got the room very cheap but had 2 double bed + extra room with couch and television.
The staff was very nice!
Downside: The metros were far away, 5-6 blocks which made the walk at the end of the night long.

The location of this luxury hotel made it a real gem. We were able to walk to everything... Dupont Circle, Georgetown, downtown DC, The White House...
Excellent location. Near many restaurants with many price ranges... many very reasonable. Also near a Trader Joe's (for cocktails & appetizers in the room before dinner... thanks to a fridge in the room).
Staff very helpful & polite.
