Description: My husband and I stayed at this Hyatt for four nights as a portion of our road trip through California and we're simply thrilled. I booked this hotel through Priceline's bidding service and was able to get a great rate for a hotel of this caliber.
Upon arrival, we were a little intimidated at the sight of a plethora of luxury vehicles parked in the entrance way but immediately felt at ease with the excellent service that followed. The check-in was amazing--we were treated no different then any other customer (non-Priceline) that walked through the door. I asked if we could get a room on a higher floor that looked west and not only were my needs met but exceeded! He put us on the top floor with an amazing west view of Los Angeles! I will never forget it!
The hotel itself is very elegant, the colors are neutral but the finishes used are high end and it shows. The lobby is large and spacious and continuously flowing with beautiful people from Hollywood and beyond. It boasts a bar with a large amount of intimate lobby seating, a small cafe, a restauant at one end and a posh club/lounge at the other end. The king room we stayed in was beautiful, it was large, bright and decorated in the same neutral high end style to match the rest of the hotel. It came with a large, flat panel TV, a quaint but elegant bathroom and a full size balcony!! Every room in this hotel has a balcony which I believe is a rare but excellent feature to have.
The hotel offers several ammenities including a beautiful large swimming pool and jacuzzi in their private outdoor courtyard area. There are private cabanas and lounge chairs that surround the pool and make the area more "resortesque". We used the pool and jacuzzi a few times during our stay and enjoyed how comfortable and uncrowded it was. Also the hotel is next door and partners with the Equinox gym and spa. It looked nice but is not included in the stay so we had to skip on it. We also did not have the chance to try out the indoor/outdoor bar lounge area or the restaurant but both looked very appealing. Our last night, we enjoyed a few hours in the club/lounge which definately had atmosphere and seemed to be a popular place for everyone around Los Angeles. The drinks were okay but that is my opinion.
On another note, I wasn't very pleased with the valet. We used them for one day and after returning the car, I came to realize my keyless entry did not work...hmmm? Also, it was a bit pricey. So the rest of the trip we parked in a small lot one block over which was half the price. There is also parking at the mall across the which I also encourage checking out. The hotel is in the Beverly Hills area but a little out of the way so one would definately need transportation if thinking about leaving the hotel for other activities.
All in all, I was very pleased with this hotel. It is really no suprise to me though, Hyatts usually have very high standards regarding their hotels and that it why I will continue coming back. Another A+ to me!
