I have a thing with germs espcially since I had kids, where I go the lysol goes. The hotel was'nt in the prime area but not that far from the mall, restaraunts, etc.I picked this hotel away from the beach because I have never stayed at an ocean front property that could keep it clean with everyone going to and from the ocean and bringing it back to the rooms. The Drury was very clean (my number 1 priority) and friendly. They even brought up a mini frig for my baby bottles-no charge. Free dinner buffet for the kids and even free drinks for the adults with a big breakfast in the morning. As long as you have a car I think you'll have a great stay.
Clean, with Great Dinner and Breakfast

Overall, this is a great choice for a hotel in Corpus. We come down every other week for business, and I think we've finally found a hotel that we'll stick with. Starting with the room: it smelled good, and seemed pretty clean, although a bit cramped and a little older. The bed was way more comfortable than most hotel beds (I didn't wake up sore like I usually do in hotels). I would have liked to have seen better linens. Not all rooms have micro/fridge, and that was a bit of a bummer. The bathroom was very clean, but a bit cramped.
The wireless worked great in our room.
The pool was nice, but not heated.
Now for the best part: the food! They have a nightly reception from 5:30 to 7 that includes beverages (alcohol and pop) as well as snacks (although I would call it dinner). The night we were there it was salad, baked potatoes, chicken wings, chips, pizza, egg rolls, etc.
In the morning, the breakfast had everything you could want: eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, sausage/gravy, biscuits, french toast, pastries, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, juice/coffee, etc. Very impressive.
The location is perfect for us, but I might be a bit bummed if I were a tourist. It doesn't have the great view like the bay, and it's not really close to anything touristy. But it is a very easy location, as you can get to the bay in about ten minutes, and the mall on 358 in about ten minutes. The Island is probably 20 minutes away.
The staff was very friendly. I liked the security gates. If it just had micro/fridge in every room and better linens, I'd be absolutely giddy. As it is, I'm happy, and we'll be back.

I have to say this was a pretty nice hotel. The beds were luciously comfortable and they have breakfast every morning that was very good. They also have evening snacks (but I never had a chance to try it because I was never around when it started) but I'm sure it would have been great. And if you like to drink, I believe you get a free alcholic beverage every night! Can't beat that for the price! I will definitely be looking for another Drury Inn the next time I travel :)
