Horrible Hotel

After spending a few days here, I have to say, not in all my time spent traveling has there been a worse experience in a hotel of this standing (DC is not supposed to be third-world). The rooms ARE smoked in, even though Radisson claims it is smoke-free and patrons must sign a form when registering stating they will be charged a large fee if caught smoking...the hallways were lined with dirty dishes from room service trays left by patrons and disregarded by the staff...during our three nights, our room was never made up (we were gone all day) and the beds are sleep number, awful...but other than that, the front desk was polite.
Seems to be a management and "we don't have to worry about customers since this is DC and the government will pay for anything," type of attitude. Well, there are some people who do care and do not work for the government...seems Radisson is really going down the toilet.

We spent the weekend sightseeing in DC and didn't want to spend too much money on lodging. The Radisson Hotel at Reagan National Airport worked out perfectly.
Pros:
Sleep number beds - very comfortable
Walking distance to metro - Crystal City stop (blue and yellow line)
Cheaper than hotels in DC
Business Center for looking up info on the internet
Clean
Helpful/friendly staff
Cons:
Parking in their garage $18/day - better to park in the Crystal City Mall (free on weekends)
If I make another trip to DC, I would stay there again.

My husband and I spent a few days with our 13 year old grandson seeing DC. The location of this hotel was perfect for us because we did not want to rent a car. The hotel has a free airport shuttle to Regan and is within easy walking distance of the Crystal City Metro stop. There are lots of dining options within walking distance as well.

We were on vacation to visit Washington DC. When we arrived, the hotel shuttle was waiting at the airport so we got right in. The hotel is only minutes away from Regan National Airport. It is also only two blocks from Crystal City Metro station and that is the best way to get around. We took the Metro everywhere. The hotel was very clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This seems to be a business hotel and didn't offer a free continental breakfast but there were resturants close by so it was no problem. We found several nice local resturants and ate there as well. The prices were very reasonable. The only thing I didn't like was the sleep number bed. Some people love them though so I guess it is just me. The room was cleaned nicely every day and there were plenty of clean towels and hot water. I would stay there again.
Failure to Maintain Facilities

On our final day, I was taking a shower at 05:15 AM and the shower would not shut off. The handle just spun round and round. Thank God that it wasn't scalding Hot water. I finally forced it off. My wife is a late riser and I am the Early Bird. I told the night desk what had happened and to alert facilities to repair it before re-renting the room. (They don't start work until 08:00 AM.). Because of Migraines, I told him that I didn't want anyone in the room until my wife is up and feelling better. Because I had pre-paid for my trip by credit card, I was told on check out that no adjustment or compensation could be made for the inconvience. We were given complementary buffet breakfasts which were okay but not the quality that I would have expected for a Radisson Hotel . We normally don't eat breakfast anyway. Take the breakfast or get nothing!
