The Quintessential Santa Barbara Hotel.

We booked the signature room and I loved the decor and the entire hotel is the quintessenial Santa Barbara feel! Beds very comfortable and clean! Breakfast is wonderful as well and it is included with your stay, but yes it does get busy trying to feed everyone all at once. I love lounging by the pool with the backdrop of the palm trees, the terracotta potted geraniums. The only thing I found off putting was having to pay for parking space! $10. You figure that should be factored in with the price. A little tacky! I think the $$$ is already pricey so book only whenn there is a deal, otherwise too expensive for what you get.

STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The worst hotel ever with poor customer service. They do NOT care about customer satisfaction. Total rip off.

I made a reservation for two nights for my husband who had just retired from 30 years of working for the same company. I was talked into upgrading the room I had originally planned to book. When we got there we were not given a room that looked alike an upgrade at all but a down grade. It was clean and all but not something worth the money I was paying. I asked for another room closer to the pool and they did move us to a wonderful room which was what I had been expecting. They also were suppose to change the price for the first night to average rate which they didn't and I had to ask them to correct which it took two people to get it done. I planned to go back and stay again for a concert so I will hopefully be given a good room on check in. Can't ask for a better location to town and ocean. Make sure to ask for better room if first one does not meet your expectations.

Wonderful location, but hotel is out of date.

The hotel for the money was awful. Noisy, cold, no coffee/tea maker, the door did not close properly so you could see the outdoors through the frame even when locked. The heater was a small foot square in the wall area type, that barely heated the room after an hour. This room was on the ground level, and you could hear the people upstairs very clearly. We had a nice view though and a patio right outside our door.

Not worth the money

The pictures of the hotel are very misleading. The staff was very friendly and the bed and pillows were awesome but the room and location of the hotel is not "right on the beach". Parking at a hotel you just paid $260 (weekend) a night for is $9 a day. We were in room 175 which was right by the street and it was very noisy. The hotel is very old and they do try to take good care of it but according to the pictures and the description it is new and shiny. You pretty much have everything around you that you need, stores, restaraunts and such so don't use the mini bar! They charge you for everything including music on the TV. Overall it was not that bad of a stay but that is becasue I love Santa Barbara but I would never stay at the Hotel Oceana again. I just feel like if you are going to charge that much for something, you should give the people what they paid for! They need to redo their website!!!! If I seen true pictures and description of the hotel I would have never booked it.
