VERY DISAPOINTING

It looks nothing like the website. Looked more like a cheap motel than the beautiful suite we were looking forward to.The staff was not very informative. We called the front desk twice and the phone literally rang for 3 mins. Before they answered. The first time we called there was no answer at all. The beds were hard as rocks and we could feel the springs! There are a few other place near that looked nice. We definitley will not be staying here again.

Great motel!!! Our overall experience at the motel was wonderful - we'll definitely stay there again! The staff was so great. Helpful with all questions, gave great directions to all our sightseeing activiites and recommended wonderful restaurants. The rooms were older but clean and nice. Every room had a microwave and refrigerator in it - great when you have kids! The best part of the motel - the pool area. 2 great pools, one with a slide. A covered area with a big screen tv and fire in the fireplace. They even sell s'more kits and kids can make s'mores in the fire - my daughter loved that. It was just a great experience all around! And all this at a very reasonable price. Again - wonderful experience!

Great pool and location

We spent a weekend here and found it very comfortable. The rooms are large, basic and clean. The pool area is very very nice - two pools plus a hot tub, very comfortable chairs with real cushions, and an outdoor living area with fireplace (and a TV to watch football!). The free breakfast was fine and they have soda and juices available in their break room throughout the day. The hotel is only about a block from Main St, where the majority of the shops and restuarants are located.

Too bad you can't judge a book by it's cover!

The pool and grounds of this hotel are wonderful. They have 2 pools and an outdoor sitting area with a flat screen TV and a fireplace.....very nice. If you plan to spend most of your time outside and don't care what the room is like then you will enjoy. The room however was absolutely awful! We booked a King Suite (which we dubbed the Not so Suite) with pullout sleeper for our family of 4 for one night. The first thing we noticed upon entering was the room smelled terrible and the bathroom appeared to be clean but smelled . The sofa was stained beyond belief and I actually felt guilty for making my kids sleep on the pullout as it was practically unbearable. If the carpet had been cleaner, I think the floor would have been more comfortable. The king bed was also very uncomfortable...it just felt like the cheapest mattress and linens they could find from a secondhand store. The towels were all old and dingy. I couldn't even believe they were still using them...they were actually so old they were turning yellow. And the AC was extremely loud. We were very disappointed for the price that we paid. Because we were only staying overnight we didn't bother to ask for a different room and I highly doubt we got the only bad room anyway. On a positive note, the staff at check in was very friendly and helpful in obtaining bedding for the pullout. (although I'm not sure why it isn't in the room to start with) The continental breakfast was good and the location is convenient and as I said before the pool area is wonderful with 2 pools, a slide, and hot tub.

A simple Motel near the sights of Fredericksburg

We were looking for a simple (i.e. cheap) place to stay for a couple nights that would be close to Fredericksburg, and of decent quality. In my opinion, this place is a Motel since the doors open to the outside of the building directly, meaning you hear more noise, and feel a little less secure. Neither of these was really a problem, since Fredericksburg is a pretty safe town, and most of the tourists are middle-aged or older, so they tend to quiet down around 9. Until then though, watch out for a hen party or two outside. We weren't planning on spending much time in Fredericksburg, but after getting a little too much sun at Enchanted Rock (note to self: next time wear more sunscreen), we decided to forego our outdoor plans and walk the main drag. Since this hotel is located at one end of the Main street, it's easy to walk as little or as much as you want. The free breakfast is pretty decent, but since neither my wife or I drink coffee, we can't comment on that. With bagels, sausage rolls, mini-muffins, cereal and fruit, it's a simple breakfast, but enough carbs to get you to lunch if you plan on spending a lot of time outdoors. Except for a little frustration from the electronic door locks (maybe being exposed to the elements has taken its toll on them), the facilities were fine for what we needed, a place to rest our heads at night between outings.
