Great Place for Kids!

We had an awesome stay. The staff was super nice. Our kids are still talking about the face painter at the hotel. They loved it! I've never had a hotel lend out sand toys.
We can't wait to go back. It was great!!!

We took a quick getaway. We didn't want to spend alot of money for only 4 days so I did ALOT of research on the different hotels. The few that I did pick had mixed reviews. Then I found this one. It had so many good reviews so I went with it. Let me say..what a great choice I made. It was worth every penny. The hotel was beautiful, the service was great, the food was excellent. We didn't even bother eating at the restaurants because the buffet had everything. We didn't have a little problem with one of the excursions we planned. Oympus said to be at the lobby at one hotel when they did the pick of another. The man working at the bellhop stand, which I'm sorry I had never go his name, was great. He made phone call after phone call just so we can get a correct phone number to call to find out what happened. He really went out of his way to help us. By the way, we did resolve the problem and had a great time on the excursion. Due to the weather we didn't use the pool or the beach but they were both beautiful.
The rooms were nice. I thought the bed was comfortable but my boyfriend thought is was a little hard. I guess it what you prefer. The room was a little cool for both of us. We weren't able to adjust to the our liking but we made do. Other than that we really had no complaints. This was a great place and we will definitely come back again.
Nice hotel, not close enough to airport

My husband and I went on this trip for our honeymoon. It was very nice and we had a blast. Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much. The hotel is nice, clean and the workers are friendly. The food and drinks were amazing. They were very accomodating and tried to help as much as possible.
The only complaint that I have about the hotel is that it is one hour from the airport, and most activities away from the resort. Also the rooms are basic. Other than that it is wonderful!

Staying at the resort is what made our trip amazing. The people were all friendly and the whole place was enjoyable. the cuisine was also amazing. Just from first look you would want to go back over and over!
Barcelo Maya resorts/Palace Hotel

We had a great experience, service was excellent. We ended up getting an upgrade due to the fact that the two oldest hotels were being refurbished. We stayed at the Palace which is an all suite hotel. When we got back I checked the price we would have had to pay versus what we paid and the difference is well worth the quality of the Palace. Food was very good and you get tochoose the best liquors (you are not restricted to just national liquors)
The restaurants were excellent except for the French restaurant which turned out to be a disappointment. Food was cold, the so called "medallions of beef" were tough. Other than that everything else was excellent.
