Terrific place to stay!

We went to Ft. Lauderdale only for a few days prior to going to Orlando. There were two adults and three children. We had an oceanfront room with two queen beds and a pull out loveseat. The room was great - nice balcony, gorgeous view and enough spcae for the entire family. There were 2 tvs, a fridge, and a microwave. The pool area is perfect. The kids loved the lazy river! The resort is set directly on the beach - no crossing the street or anything! The beach area is beautiful. There are boogie boards for the kids to use, umbrellas to rent, and drink and food service right on the beach. We loved this resort and really want to return. I would suggest it to anybody looking to visit Ft. Lauderdale. You may think it seems pricey, but it is so worth it.

We Love This Place! We have been here twice, have referred family & have tried to book several other times ourselves but word is getting out. This hotel has it all. Semi-private beach away from the crowds of Ft. Lauderdale, clear water, cozy feel w/kid friendly pool, lazy river and ice cream parlor. We will be back time & time again unless others beat us to it! We highly recommend the Pelican!

I have just returned from my honeymoon and I have to say I was saddeded when I called valet to bring my car because I knew my stay was over. This hotel is beautiful, clean, and all the staff was willing to help me with anything I needed. The only thing I did not like at the hotel was the $16.00 per day valet parking fee, because not only do you pay for valet but they also expect you to tip them as well. I went through well over $50.00 just tipping people for getting my car. You almost hated to leave the hotel cause you knew you would have to pay to leave. I definetly think that since you are already paying a high class price for a nice hotel they shouldnt charge the $16.00 valet charge. We were there for 3 days and it cost probably about $1400.00 after tipping and paying the fee's. I probably wont stay here again because it is very pricey, but it was nice while it lasted. The view of the ocean was beautiful from our private balcony, but when I arrived I did smell cigarette smoke despite the fact that it is a non-smoking facility. The pool was freezing so I wasn't able to use it even though that was one of the reason's I booked this hotel, I don't think it is heated at all. Also they might want to consider upgrading the bathrooms. I mean for such a beautiful hotel they should have roman tubs. Me and my fiance weren't really able to take a shower together due to the small bathtubs. I would recomend staying at thsi hotel if you can get a good deal on the price. Was it worth almost $400.00 per night, not really.
