Hampton Inn in Crystal City

As I was in Washington DC for the marine corps marathon, I don't think I could have booked a better hotel. It was convenient to the metro, to the shuttle bus to the marathon, and to the post race party. There were excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. The hotel provided a very good breakfast each morning and even set up early on the day of the marathon. The people at the front desk were most helpful in answering questions. The maid service was very good. The room was big and bright with everything in working order. It really is a convenient location to get to the attractions in Washington DC, to the shops in Crystal City (if you are there to shop) and to fine dining without needing the use of a car. I intend to book there again.

Nice Hotel for DC Vacation

I chose this hotel because I like Hamptons, and I usually know what I'm getting when I book a room there. The room was relatively large, with fridge, microwave, etc. It was clean, except for some crumbs at the end of the bed, and although the whole hotel is nonsmoking, I smelled stale cigarette smoke as soon as I opened the door to our room. The odor seemed to fade after the first night, though, or maybe I got used to it. It is a short walk to the Metro station, and my son and I found this subway system to DC so easy to use. I didn't find many family-friendly restaurants nearby--we walked to Chili's one night, had pizza delivered the next night, and took the Metro to Pentagon City and ate at California Pizza Kitchen another night. All in all, it was a nice place--a little pricey, but not as expensive as staying in DC.

Great place to stay with eateries, drinkeries, nearby subway stops

Stayed during Christmas-New Year's week for brief vacation to visit favorite DC sites. Complimentary hot breakfast was quite good. Rooms were well maintained and comfortable - I do not sleep well in hotels, but this time I did - very comfortable mattress. Our schedule did not permit use of the pool or the exercise facility. The hotel is located at the corner of Rt 1 and 20th Street in Crystal City - just 3 short blocks further (on 23rd St.) there is an assortment of restaurants and pubs - we chose to visit 2 of them on 2 separate occasions and had a delightful experience both times. Hotel is a moderate walk to Metro subway stop.

Very Glad we picked this location.

Very nice location to the metro plus the shuttle at the hotel will drop you off and pick you up. We had rented a car and it stayed parked the entire trip. The front desk was always helpful and ready to help with any of our needs or questions. Very lovely people! The room was great. Only slight problem was the breakfast could of had a larger verity on the hot portions in the buffet.

Great Stay

Crystal City Metro stop was 2 blocks away which made getting around very easy. Breakfast buffet was very good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The pull out sofa was missing some springs so the mattress sunk in areas.
