this is a very classy hotel. it is located directly on the beach. the pool and beach area are awesome. the bathroom/vanity area was not cleaned properly. very surprising for a hyatt. the rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. only ate once at the hotel in cascades. the food and service were excellent. it is very expensive to eat in maui. even more so in the hotel. the fitness room was the best i have ever been to. wow. they have a luau every day so you can watch them prepare the pig at 7:30 a.m. the hotels are all connected by a walkway along the beach so you can visit other facilities, restaurants. and shopping and dont have to drive. the grounds are amazing. swans, penguins, coi. the facilities are meticulously maintained.

Beautiful hotel to stay in Maui

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and the place was beautiful, foods were great too. Breakfast buffet was included in our stay which was superb. Besides the fresh papayas and pineapples every morning, you ask, they had everything you can think of as a breakfast ( more than 40 items including fresh juices ) even rice and miso soup. We were up graded to partial ocean view which had balcony that can walk out side. Also within the hotel there was activity reservation place which was very helpful. We also attended Luau which was not bad at all. Hotel also is very close to Lahaina Mall which is good place to shop for gifts. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Maui again.

My family spent several days here and really enjoyed it. The hotel is first class. We had an ocean view room. Room was spacious and clean. Pool is great (nice kids slide!). Beach area a little small but very nice. The waves are a little smaller at this area of the beach as opposed to just a few hotels to the north, so easier to swim in ocean here. Would definately come back.

Good stay, great location

The service at this hotel is incredible. They immediately responded to every request and were always courteous and helpful. They make everything easy and seamless for the guests. The beds are VERY comfortable and the rooms provide ample space. The bathroom was a bit small and dark. We found ants by the bathroom sink but as soon as we told the front desk, they sprayed and the ants did not reappear. Those were our only issues. You can't beat the location. The hotel is right on the beach and within walking distance to other high-end hotels and Whaler's Village (fun shopping and dining). The hotel atrium is wide open and everyday you will see different tropical birds and penguins in the atrium. If you enjoy the pool, I'd recommend scoping out your seat first thing in the morning. It does get crowded. You'd have a hard time finding a seat after 11am. But there's a separate area for kids to play and a waterslide for people of all ages. I'd also recommend booking the hotel with the free breakfast so you don't have to keep such a close eye on your wallet. Food in Maui is expensive. The breakfast buffet in the hotel is $25 per person. But they have a generous selection and the view from the dining room is unbeatable. Also, if you have a chance to use the spa, definitely get a treatment or two. The spa is an experience within itself! The photos on the website don't lie. It's a very nice hotel. They just need a bit of a face lift. You really won't fully enjoy the experience of Maui and/or this hotel if you are on a tight budget. Everything on the island is a bit pricey but it's worth the experience.

I travel to Maui 3 times a year and love the Hyatt because of it's location and amenities. I took clients and they all had a great time. Kahanapalli beach is great and the Hyatt is the nicest hotel along the beach. A short drive to Lahaina makes it the perfect location. A short walk down the path to Whalers Villiage and the Hula Grill is a must while your there. Can't think of anything bad.
