Renaissance Worthington Hotel Fort Worth

My partner and I stayed at the Renaissance for 5 nights. He had a business meeting and I came along. The hotel is located in the heart of Sundance Square. From the Renaissance Worthington (also known as ‘the Star of Texas’) you can walk to the restaurants, bars and shops. When walk into the hotel, you’ll notice the high ceilings and waterfall. There are benches and chairs in the Southern style of Texas.

The room color gives you a warm and welcome feeling. The yellow, crème and red color and the dark brown furniture is a good combination. The bed has cotton white linens, which looks very fresh and several different pillows so you can choose the one you like and sleep well. The rooms are spacious. There is a chair with a small table (with magazines), a desk with a comfortable chair, an extra bench and a nice bathroom. The finishing touch were the flowers and plants. For longer stays this hotel is just perfect! We had a Club Level room and therefore access to the Club lounge. That means breakfast in the morning; they call it ‘hot buffet breakfast’. The only hot item was scrambled eggs. The pastries were good and there is a lot of fresh fruit. There are also afternoon snacks and drinks. There is a refrigerator with several beverages and water. You can take beverages 24/7. The Club Lounge is closed in the weekend.

The hotel can be crowded with business people. There are always a lot of conferences going on.

The Stockyards are a short drive away. If you don’t want to drive you can take the trolley. The trolley station in next to the hotel. The day I wanted to take the trolley, I couldn’t find it. I decided to take the bus and for 2 dollars I had a two-way ticket to the Stockyard!

The hotel staff is very friendly and polite. I will stay here again, if I ever go to Fort Worth. I highly recommend this hotel to business people, tourists and everybody else who needs a decent hotel.

Set in the heart of Sundance Square in Downtown, this hotel offers an elegant starting point for all of the activities that Fort Worth has to offer. With a fountain that cascades from the second floor in the lobby to a piano player seranading guests, the hotel offers ample convience and class.

I have always loved this hotel back to the days when it was the Worthington Hotel. Now it is owned by Marriott and is called the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. Centrally located in downtown Fort Worth it is a destination in itself. A totally non-smoking property, this hotel is as fresh and bright as a new penny.

The rooms are lovely, the public areas are grand, yet comfortable, but the best of it all is the fantastic food in the restaurants. Do not miss Kalamatas either for a meal from the menu or one of their specialty Sunday buffets.

The location of this hotel makes it idea for anyone wanting to play downtown, have a rest in luxury or just get away from the ranch for a while.

Minutes by foot from the Bass Performance Hall and 16 miles from DFW International Airport.

Family friendly with a secure parking garage and valet parking.

Absolutely wonderful. Look for special rates and seasonal packages.

Not worth 4 stars

The good: Huge covered entry, location, view, piano music, 40' TV image in bar, and comfortable bed. The bad: Attracts wedding parties. The hallways amplify drunken bridesmaid's Texas twang at 1:30 in the morning. Avoid floors with wedding parties. I bought a brunch for two at check in for a total of $10. They didn't have any vouchers. They said my room number will be on a list. There was no list. The waitress was not much help. I was given a bill for $36 and told to sign. We'll see if I get screwed.

Great experience

From the VERY friendly staff to the comfortable bed, this was one of the best hotels ever. I was ther by myself on business for an entire week. Usually a very lonely experience, but not this time, at end of day, felt like I was going home to quiet room to study for tests. I was there to get continuing education in my business, grueling week but hotel, staff and dining made experience hard to bear.
