Great for families!

We have been to every dive and 5-star hotel in Monterey. We just needed a quick overnighter for our family of four since we were passing through. This is the place to go. Location is great (right across the street from the beach and 4 blocks from Cannery Row). Hotel is a little run down, such as their corridors and hotel furniture/decor, but the beds were so comfortable and the place was exceptionally clean. Their continental breakfast was great too. Big selection, great if you have hungry little ones! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very nice hotel. Great location, walking distance to the pier. Had a gas fireplace. The staff is wonderful, very kind and helpful. Printed out directions for us whenever we needed them. Continental breakfast. Would prefer a full size ironing table to a compact one. Hightly recommend booking directly through the hotel. The online travel website is over $* more expensive and that's after the price guarantee and a $50 coupon from the previous price guarantee. Online travel website also regularly charges a higher sales tax.

Cannery Row Inn

The Cannery Row Inn isn't actually on Cannery Row. It is actually located a block off the Row but is close enough for walking. While the hotel may afford a few views of the ocean, mine did not. I didn't care, for I wasn't there to stay in the room and look out the window. I was there to partake in the atmosphere of Monterey and the Monterey Bay Area.

It isn't too expensive considering the area, and I would recommend it to families and couples. It is a nice clean establishment with average beds, and average rooms. It was fine for a night or even two. I prefer to stay in more upscale accommodations, but this is a good alternative to more expensive places.
