Room didn't match the internet photos

Photos online did not match the room we got. I am assuming we got an older room that hasn't been updated but the photos online are of upgraded and updated rooms. Our room was old, smelly, small bathroom, atrocious kitchen facilities. Location was incredible though, especially for the price of the room. I don't think I will stay there again, but thankfully we pretty much slept there only. We were hardly in the room other than that. Also, the heater didn't work well, so we froze. On the plus side the rooms were spacious (we got a suite) and of course you can't beat the location. Don't look at the internet photos and expect that's what you'll get for a room. My only advice.

This hotel is in a great location, next to the John Hancock building, the Cheesecake Factory, and the Magnificent Mile. The room was a little outdated but had a kitchen and everything we needed. We'd definitely stay here again!!!

The bed was like concrete and there is no chair in the room besides the buisness chair for the desk.Very old hotel with rooms to match. Elevators take a long time too.

First Time at Sececa

My first impression of the hotel was good- the lobby was nice, was able to obtain access to my room quickly. However, once I went upstairs I found out my room was next to a fire escape, in the cubby hole from the rest of the rooms. I went back to reservations to request another room, the gentleman at the desk, gave me the impression that it was odd to request another room. He did not know if he could do it, and had to ask permission to change it. Finally, I received a new room and noticed the stains in the carpet, very hard bed and outdated furniture. I thought I was being punished because I booked through online travel website. Although it was nice to have the amenities: refrigerator, microwave, etc and the convenience of the location, I would have preferred another hotel.

Old world charm

A very charming hotel with plenty of amenities. Somewhat outdated, they even had actual keys, but nice nonetheless. Location was excellent, just 2 blocks from the lake, and plenty of shopping all within walking distance. Was slightly disappointed in the amount of time it took to acquire my car from valet. Overall enjoyable experience and would definitely stay there again.
