Good Experience

Stayed at the Amalfi due to good reviews. Clean room but bed and towels could have been better quality. Avoid rooms ending in "22" as they are across from the ice maching. 6th floor is the highest floor (evening reception held there in a meeting room). Try the Amalfitini-- made with yummy limoncello. Park at the garage on State! Cheaper than valet.

Very urban feel to this hotel. Bathroom was large and shower pressure excellent. Clean and neat. Would stay again.

Location convenient. Rooms nice. Large bathrooms. The front desk clerk couldn't manage eye contact or a smile for 3 days. Desk failed to give us an honor bar key? The doorman was very warm and friendly - a welcome sight returning to the hotel tired. That warm feeling lasted about 10 steps until we passed the cold desk. Super bed. Magazines and cd's in the room made us feel at home. The room was beautiful. The bathroom amenities impressed me enough to notice how much I enjoyed them. The hotel manager needs to get the front desk on the program. Overall satisfying. I will stay here again.

Fabulous For the Price

After reviewing a lot of different hotels we chose the Amalfi because of its overall rating on online travel. Upon arrival the doorman immediately took care of the car and the concierge was quick at getting us checked in. The room was clean and a nice size for just two people. Breakfast was served on our floor as promised everyday but Friday. We never waited for more than 20 seconds for the elevator no matter what time of day we needed one. The cleaning crew was very persistent even though we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. There's not a fan/vent in the bathroom & late checkout is no longer available but they did offer to hold our bags for us. The location was perfect - very close to Michigan Ave and not too far from Navy Pier or Wrigley Field. Room service is provided by Harry Carey's across the street so the hours are limited but the food there is delicious and well portioned. Overall we were very pleased with the quality and professionalism of the Amalfi. We will definitely be staying there again when we can get back to Chicago.
