For Mayo Clinic Patients The Best Place To Stay!

The Kahler Grand is a beautiful old hotel directly across the street from the Mayo Clinic. There's a special rate offered for Mayo patients, and you can choose from economic, modest or luxury rroms. We stayed in a modest room and it was fine for my husband and I. The staff was extremely helpful. What I most appreciated was that the hotel was just a few steps from the clinic, a luxury after long days of tests and medical consultations! The (walking) subway also makes it easy to get to the Clinic, its cafeteria and to the myriad of eateries and shops underneath the surrounding buildings. There's also a skyway thatcan be used to go to surrounding buildings. If I have to return to Mayo I will again make the Kahler Grand Hotel my home base.

We have gone to Rochester Mn to see doctors at the Mayo center for six years. We have stayed at a dozen nice hotels. The Grand Kahler Hotel will be our fist choice from now on.
The reason is the location! Once you park your car (free parking) you do not need to go out into the weather or fight traffic for the rest of your stay. The Grand has a tunnel that is connected to the Mayo building . There is a food court and shops all connected to the hotel. The Grand has a wonderful pool/spa on the 11th floor and offers 24/7 room service. The worst part of our trips has been driving and parking in Rochester. Now we will not have to deal with that.
If you are having medical treatment at the Mayo or ST Marys Hospital (Mayo has a shuttle to and from St Marys). The Grand Kahler is the right hotel to stay at !

stayed during a convention - the rooms were dirty, even received dirty towels that were still damp, mold in bathroom, tub was dirty when we arrived, feces under edge of toilet, flaking ceiling, dirty air conditioner, hallways not air conditioned, furniture old - dressers falling apart, edges of carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for years, understaffed, rooms too small - one had a shower that required a small person to stand sideways in.

I attended a convention at the Mayo Clinc Center that occured during a snowstorm. The walkway connects to the event center via the mall and a bookstore. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and one in the sky walk. Plus, it has a parking garage - perfect for my needs.
