I was placed in the smallest room but for the reduced price it was perfect. I was in Rochester Minnesota for a conference.

Quote: Excellant place to stay at an affordable price. I was in town for a conference and needed a place to sleep and a desk with internet access to review lecture notes etc.

Very convenient. Decent room.

Quote: I was going to the Mayo Clinic. The Kahler Grand is very close and convenient. If it's your first time going to the Mayo Clinic, I reccomend it. This was my second time, and I went back. The shuttle to the Mineapolis airport starts at the Kahler.... Read the full The Kahler Grand Hotel review

Friendly and convenient

  • April 12, 2011
Quote: The Kahler Grand is a great old hotel with a lovely lobby, a friendly staff and old world charm. Some of the rooms could use a little updating, but overall it retains much of the ambience of a more gentile time. The food in the Lord Essex Dining... Read the full The Kahler Grand Hotel review

Hotel was in need of renovations.

Quote: I could hear our neighbors talk, noise levels bad for handicapped seniors. Restaurant prices high and menus were outdated, rooms needed renovations and hotel did not offer any discounts for handicapped or extended stay guests.

Old fashioned but cheap

Quote: I stayed here for a friend's wedding. The hotel is fairly old fashioned and has not been updated in a long time. Furniture was old. The bathroom was fairly small, still had a place to drop old shaving razors-I'm not too familiar with these but... Read the full The Kahler Grand Hotel review

Older Hotel - but great location and great service

Quote: We stayed a week there and it was a good experience. The staff is attentitive to your needs. You cannot beat the location to Mayo Clinic, especially with the access to the subway system.

Quote: Stayed before, had a great experience. This time was horrible. First room they checked us into was not cleaned. Front desk staff was rude about switching us to a second (clean) room. After using the pool later that night, key would not... Read the full The Kahler Grand Hotel review

This hotel has seen better days!

  • 2 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • February 28, 2010
Quote: This hotel may have been great in it's day, but it's day has passed. The building is very run down and in great need of updates. It is supposed to be a full-service hotel, but the service was lacking. We asked the concierge where to go for dinner... Read the full The Kahler Grand Hotel review
