Hotel was nice and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Staff was courteous and also spoke english. Not sure how far a "short walk" is - we took the bus to Tianamen Square, etc.

This was an excellent value for the money. We stayed in the Chinese section of the hotel and it was quite nice. The food in the restaurant was good with a huge buffet breakfast every morning. Met lots of travelers from Europe. The staff was great at answering questions and helping with taxi arrangements. We were right around the corner from the Forbidden City and couldn't have asked for a better location. We would definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel was perfect. We were able to walk to many of the site from where we were. If you prefer to take the subway, it was across the street. The subway cost 40 cents. The staff was excellent and they spoke english.

Perfect location close to all major attractions. By far the best price in this hotel class. Adequate rooms & bathrooms, though daily cleaning left something to be desired. Service was lackluster, but that's more a China thing than it is a Novotel problem. Decent breakfast buffet, but dinner is not worth the money.
