HAD A WONDERFUL STAY!

The hotel is very nice had a T station attached to the building for easy traveling into downtown Boston. Unfortunately Boston experienced a snow storm the weekend we were there and we were unable to walk anywhere! We had a terrific corner room on the 19th floor with a view of downtown Boston and the Charles River! The bed was absolutely comfortable and the room was very nice. The only issue we had was with the parking. We did not see where it states anywhere that valet parking at the hotel was $30 a night and self-pariking in the garage next door was $23 a night. It also does not state that if you park at the Self-parking garage you have to pay EVERY time you come and go. In other words, we were in the hotel for approx. 1 hour and we had to pay them $17.00 just to park for that short period of time.We were told that we would have to pay another $23.00 when we returned. We discussed this with the hotel front desk and wtihout any objections at all we were given free Valet parking for that evening! We truly appreciated the hotel doing that for us. We would definately stay at the Cambridge Marriott again, but not until SPRING!! :)

Staff was friendly, got a couple nice "good mornings" from them. Room service was great. The room was nice, standard Marriott fare, and the view of Cambridge/Boston/Charles River was fantastic. Beds were very comfy, cosy, and temperature control was great in the room. There's a Starbucks in the lobby - good for breakfast. The T-station is right outside the door, as well, very convenient.

I was impressed with the rooms and the facility in general, the bed was incredible. Had not had such a great night of sleep in a long time. The staff was helpful and gracious. The only problem, we would of preferred a more central location.

Incredible & Convenient

We arrived at the Marriott Cambridge via taxi & were immediately welcomed by friendly doormen who assisted us with our luggage. At check-in, it was quick, easy and the staff very friendly. The room was very well appointed, clean & very comfortable. The bed/mattress & pillows were the most comfortable we've ever experienced. The bathroom was extremely large and they provided Bath & Body brand hair products & lotions. Very nice flat screen TV with in-room movie options. The housekeeping staff was always very friendly, respectful, and returned to clean our room even after not leaving until early-mid afternoon. Several times we needed a taxi and there were always several waiting & the doormen would call them over immediately. The bar/grill was nicely decorated & comfortable. The bartender did not appear to be very knowledgable in mixing more complex drinks, but poured a mean beer, was very attentive & friendly. Check out was quick & easy. The best part was that we were able to check into our flight & print boarding passes via kiosk in the lobby of this hotel. It saved us so much time at the airport. What a great ammenity! The only issue we had with this hotel was that it was a bit far from where we needed to be causing us to walk several miles or take a cab. We needed to be closer to the Boston Univ campus on the other side of the Charles River. If the rates are good, we would book rooms here again in a heartbeat, however our preference would be on the other side of the River to cut down on cab fare.

Family Weekend So-So

The Good: Public transportation is readily available the food is decent (MC2). Very convenient to MIT. The MC2 breakfast staff are great with kids and VERY pleasant. The Bad: Cleanliness of rooms subpar for most Marriott chain. Bath had hair in it on arrival. Two screws were found on the floor my my 1 year old (which he quickly tried to insert into the telephone socket). The door locks broke and we required maintanance multiple times. Even though they couldn't fix it, the front desk (who knew we had kids we were putting to bed) called twice waking them up both times. This lead to a miserable night. The stainless steel pool was a tad bizarre and rusty (also a fair amount of ?sand on the bottom). Usually the Marriott chain is better than this, so likely a fluke, but I would think twice before bringing kids to this hotel.
