Tired and Not Trying!

I booked 2 rooms for a girlfriends get away week end. We were told upon check in that the adjoining rooms promised were unavailable, but the hotel was only 1/2 full. The desk staff was pleasant but rather distracted. Upon checking into our room we were told that the previous occupants were late departures & that the room had just been made up. We found thier leftovers in our mini fridge along with their toilettries in the shower - not a very warm welcome from the hsopitality staff!
The rooms are dated and need some serious redecorating. For a 4 star hotel I was taken aback by the garish, polyester quilts and industrial grade thin towels. The rooms on our floor had flat screen TV's ( which did not work properly) and i-pod docking stations, the other floors had old TV sets & clock radios with even uglier bedding.
The hotel has a lovely pool and fitness area - its one saving grace!
If you are traveling to Rochester, please consider staying at a chain for better amenities and the opportunity to be awarded points or consider one of the newer boutique hotels downtown. This hotel does not live up to its reputation.

The hotel is nice, all right. On a golf course, it's a nice location. The pool is awesome, half indoor and half out and heated. The room service prices were UNREAL! Eight dollars for a hotdog! Very snobby atmosphere. We travel about four times a year, and have stayed at some very nice hotels, but this one was just over the top in sobby people. We ordered a pizza to be delivered rather then pay the room service rates, which tack on another 18% service charge and $2 for delivery. No thank you. While we were in our room around 5:30 pm, a housekeeper just WALKED in, no knock, just in she came. No apology. The room walls are really thin, so you hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is saying and doing and watching on TV. Not worth the money, that is for sure. You're better off staying down the road at the Hampton Inn, cheaper NICER rooms. No room service, but there is a Friday's right next door. Take my advice, don't stay here unless your nose is in the air and you think you are just a little better then everyone else.
