Winter 2008 Vacation

I stayed here with my two daughters for a ski vacation. The hotel is on the edge of town so it is quiet but still convenient to town. Shuttle service to the gondola is convenient. We alternated between riding the gondola from downtown and driving to Mountain Village which is less than 10 minutes away. The price for this hotel seems to be a good value in Telluride relative to other choices. The bottom line is that this is a nice hotel and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Fall Getaway

This hotel has, on occasion, been voted one of the 500 best hotels in the world. My experience with good hotels is considerable, and I will say that this is one of the best managed, most elegantly appointed hotels I’ve ever been in. If your taste runs to the Regent Beverly Wilshire (Pretty Woman) then this isn’t it. This is a western mountain lodge done to suit the tastes of well-heeled ski patrons. You can curl up on a comfortable couch in front of the large fireplace in the lobby. Denim is the norm. There are ski lockers in the covered parking garage. On the other hand, the computer on which I’m writing sits on a marble desk in a private room free for guests. The complimentary breakfast is cooked to order by a genuinely friendly gentleman that could cook in any fine restaurant I know of. The front of the house is friendly, and efficient. I would recommend the Hotel Telluride to anyone.

Beautiful hotel easy walk to town center. We had a nice corner room with a balcony and rocking chairs. Some balconies were very small. Good breakfast as well. Great staff.

The Hotel Telluride

The Hotel Telluride is GORGEOUS, even if it is western themed (we get enough of that in Arizona). Think elegant, pampered Western. It's luxury but not stuffy, with a great staff, free Starbucks coffee downstairs in the morning, and a nice little breakfast kitchen with amazing French toast. I got a great massage in their spa downstairs.

The rooms have feather beds they call The Incredible Bed, Aveda products as toiletries, and thick terry robes in the closet. There's a great balcony in each room and a hot tub up top.
